an Excellent condition car with the same mileage on kellybluebook comes to $63K, so that's not so unrealistic...

If its not a buyback car, that is a KILLER deal!! I wish I had run into deals like that when I was shopping.
Then again, my deal involved me trading two cars in for the E55. Not a lot of sellers were willing to deal with all that.

Deal Looks pretty good.
Even if car is low on options it has the most important options on it.
Body, Seat, Engine, Tranny 4 wheels and gas pedal.
What else do you need, probably even got AC )))
Edmunds trade in is 63k!
How can you tell if it's been painted?? Pictures are so small and low on quality.
And If it's been fixed good, it doesn't matter. Who cares.
And it's tough to sell cars right now. I see deals like that all over the place.
On all types of cars.
Your frined will probably be able to negotiate 2-4k more on this one.

I am not sure on the East Coast but on the West Coast that number seems low. So I just picked up the phone and called the dealership and this is what I got:
Its a flood damaged car from Texas with a branded title. It was totalled out by an insurance company. That car is not even worth the 59,900 they are asking for!!!!!

Ya get what ya pay for...
If I was lookin to buy that car,I'd be paying a Certified Mercedes-Benz mechanic for his time to examine it in his shop.
I'd do this before buying ANY used MB thats not for sale at an MB dealer or isn't a certified Star Mark car.
Would kill me if I just laid out $60 large for a car,and it turns out to be a P.O.S. All in the effort to save a few thousand $$....

Yeah if it's Salvage title car - it's price is 49k at best.
Flood car from Texas - be carefull!!!
Mercs - damn expensie electronics.
If it was salt water - I would pay 1k for it.
If it is fresh water flood, you have to think 5 times.
I'd rather take ex-accident damaged car.
Flood cars are tricky, sometimes you get perfect car.
Oil change - and off you go.
Frined of mine got his 540 for 6k - drove it like 60-70k miles,
with NO problems whatsoever )).
But sometimes, if you unlucky you will be plagued with problems on flood cars.

Bout the only thing I would do is take it to a Benz shop and pay a mechanic an extra hundred or so to just SCOUR that car for damage.
Aaaaaaaa, there are dozens of cherry 03 55's for only 10k more...man, if I have learned anything after hundreds of hard knocks...it's "ya get what you pay for".
List of 55's

Most banks won't even finance an S titled car. My bro had gotten a bimmer with an S title and the bank found out it was like this about a month later because of some paper screw up. Anyway, he tried to sell it and the most of the people that wanted to buy it, their bank wouldn't touch it. The banks were only willing to finance 4Gs when he still owed nearly double that. Finally my parent's bought it from him, paid cash.
