What Mods For $2K / $4K?

After running with the Lambos and turbo 996s this past weekend, I'm looking to boost my HP & TQ a bit. I don't want to dump silly amounts of cash into this car. It's my daily driver and it has to remain utterly reliable. I'm probably going to cap the mod budget at $2K or $4K (including install). What are my best options (if any) with either budget?

Go to Kleemann, get the pulley and ECU done.

or Renntech or Evo. It (pulley and chip) is the best bang for the buck. JMHO mp

I would focus on a cooling mod first to help you enjoy your current power then focus on things that will build up heat. As you know, heat soak kills our cars HP even stock.

I got Hennessey's pulley kit ( www.hennesseyperformance.com )when i first modded my E55. It gained 40 hp at the tires and cost under $2k installed. That is the best bang for the buck out there. After that i would add Kleemann headers and call it a day. Darren's offer is a good deal if you get the headers cheap enough. My car with similar mods and a stock computer makes over 470 to the tires. It can beat just about anything from a roll including Vipers and turbo Porsches. Good luck with it.

Aren't those prices just for the parts? How much would install be?

Thanks for the info. So, 470 to the wheels allows you to beat even the newest Vipers (the ones that trap around 120MPH)? If so, that sounds like my best option to run with Lambos (roughly the same trap speeds).

Do the headers have the coating on them for heat reduction? Is it the complete pulley kit with all parts that I'd need or would I need to buy other parts from Hennessey?

The headers are ceramic coated and the pulley is the only thing you need to replace (you use the original bolt from the stock pulley with the upgraded pulley along with the original belt). You won't need to buy other parts. I would strongly recommend purchasing an ecu upgrade from Kleemann though, but there are others on here who have not and are happy with just the pulley (the stock ecu is fairly decent at recognizing the additional boost, but I wanted everything I could get out of the engine). By using the Kleemann ecu with these mods (headers and pulley) I dyno'd 483 rwhp (at the wheels). Hope this helps.

I haven't done a 1/4 mile yet. Will do so shortly. The dealer has the car now and called today to tell me they will call me back tomorrow with their decision on the warranty. We'll see tomorrow.
