Like King said, apples and oranges. M3's are great cars for what they are intended to do. As are the E55's. Completely day and night. The M3 will outhandle an E55 anyday but a lot of that comes down to the driver. The E isn't all that bad on a track: http://www.nasaracing.net/VIR_July_0...%20072906.html

I think it was more of a generalized statement towards him. I've met a lot of young and cool E55 drivers. E350 and E320, not so much.

i did pick up a 2007 e yesterday after trading in the 06. now lets be serious if i was gonna lie or troll i think i would pick a faster version or bigger model, ie AMG or CL. anyhow I thought my gay jokes were funny and about as mature as the whole debate, that is the irony in it all. we are comparing a modded car vs another modded car and people are talking crap about pink slips over the internet and thus being very gay. bottom line is that model for model stock the benz's kick the bmw asses except for c vs 3 where I admit the 3 is nicer but still gayer.....

I own both - a 2000 N/A E55 (great car) as well as a 2004 M3. Honestly the build quality is definately better on the Benz. But - for a change of pace, the M3 is really a sports car - handles flat, great power to weigh ratio(quick), and brakes are amazing.

For whatever reason, the current supercharged E55's never really grabbed me, and I think my next Benz will be an SL55. But honestly, having both of my current cars (along with a G500) mixes things up enough to always bring a smile to my face no matter what I decide to drive on a given day. And, isnt that what its all about anyway ?

With over 800whp and it weighing ~3000lbs..it will destroy the SLR. I dont know much about Benz's though, but i have never hear of 1000hp Benz's like i have heard of e36 M3's with 1100+whp.

I know all about Taza M3's car from over on e46. I've even talkd to him a few times through pm. It's a friggin beast! I'm just messing with him. His doesnt have 1000whp either. SLR's arent even that fast man, depending on what stage s/c you have and how much nitrous you run, you could probably beat one! Dont underestimate benz's though, just cuz you havent heard of them being out there doesnt mean they arent. I know of at least 3 10s E55's in my area. They just dont like other people to know that Just for fun, heres my friends 4 door 328 with 996whp. I know all about the turbo BMW's and they are definitely no joke!
