Okay got the Green Filters.....so just pop um in??
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the info.
If you can visibly see the oil on the filters and they are oily to the touch, I would leave them unwrapped on a table overnight to let them air dry a bit before you put them in.
If it WASN'T:
Add a uniform amount of oil to each line in the filter.. Just enough that it soaks evenly. Don't over oil it!
Interested to see if I feel any difference.....I would imagine not as K&N are pretty free flowing (to the motors detriment some say) .....gonna try to dyno and see soon.....if I could just get the friggin time.

I also ASSUMED they were basically the same material and required the same care. I've personally not used them, but that is what I thought they were.
Better let someone with first hand experience chime in here...

Thanks for the info.
The Green filters are made with a synthetic cotton fiber that filter just as well as stock filter, yet allow the air to flow more freely than a K&n filter. I should be getting mine sometime this week as well. I have been running stock filters this whole time and just changed them a few months back. I cant wait to see what the Green filters do.
Please and thanks.
My kids kodak gets closer.
Now, who was saying that the K&N was much more porous??? NO WAY!
I can see right through the filter and can make out the sidewalk in the first pic. You can't see through a K&N. Hell, I can't see through my BMC race filters either.
I think these green ones will give you more flow, but they are DEFINITELY more porous than a K&N filter. You can't see through the K&N when you hold it up to the light.
There is no way this thing will filter any better than a K&N. If anything I think it will make MORE POWER than the K&N BUT IT WILL FILTER LESS.
That's my $0.02....
I just inspected my K&N's and found the wire mesh comming apart so i had to pull them and put the stockers back in. everyone check your K&N's extremely close, I could barely see the little wire pieces comming off.

I'm getting paranoid now - go back to stockers or switch to the green filters? I've never heard any negative feedback about the green filters performance. Any first-hand user input out there?
(didn't do it) $60 bucks down the drain!
(didn't do it) $60 bucks down the drain!I've used K&N for 12 years and never had any problems! My MBZ dealer installed these filters in the E55 and I told them to check carefully for any loose metal bits, but did they?
I just ordered the Green Filters from Neal, just in case! Fear is great for new business... remember the Y2K ?

I took one up to the light with a flash, yes u can see threw it a bit, but thats is simply because they are a thin cotten. Just like if you hold a cotten t-shirt up to a light you see threw it. Thats the oils job to keep small particals out.
I also took a picture of the backside of the box showing it states the filters are pre-oiled.
Any one here that have heard or used the Blitz air filters for the 2002 C32 AMG. Which one is better K & N, Green filters or Blitz? And how much are the green filters for 02 C32 AMG?
thanks,
Robert
