New Mod: Locomotive Horn? (Super Fargin Loud)
I'm wondering if there is room anywhere under an 04 E55 to put a monster set of train horns? Any ideas where or if they could be hidden?

I know, I've been rolling watching the videos all day. Think that there's any room under the E55 in front or back for a set of giant horns? The compressor and tank would be mounted in the trunk. I'm going to be depressed if I can't find a way to jam this silly *** crap under my car.

I don't think you're going to find any room in the E55. I have a friend that has put them on his Truck, they take up a fair amount of room.
thought the video was kinda funny...

The horn in the video is from a GE dash 9-44CW locomotive. It is a rather large air horn. You can get a recording from railserve.com, downloaded into your Ipod, then played back through an amp mounted in your trunk thru PA speakers. Crude, but effective. :p

I can't stop laughing, that was hilarious! I had a high pitched airhorn in a car long ago that sounded like the second horn blast in the video. If you would get smaller horns, could you use the factory wiring?

I have had an ambulance horn / 2 gal air tank mounted in my 2005 Dodge ram and there as barely any room in that massive truck for it. it was a single horn and worked well. It all fun and games to use, but it was mainly for when a little pos pulled out in front of a Huge Black 8800 lb truck like it wasn’t even there. Blowing it at close range to pedestrians can cause irreparable hearing damage. And it wasn't nearly as loud as a train horn.

The best I could do were small air horns I had installed in my ML430. I guess I can't attach the same pic twice.
here's the page:

they are pretty loud and I've scared a few people with them. Everyone that cuts me off definitely knows I am pissed!

I have wanted to do this for years! Can you imagine, one of those A-holes driving slow in the fast lane, and when you honk, it practically blows their windows out! LOL! That will get them out of your lane REAL FAST!

The plastic trunk liner's spare tire recess is a perfect size for the horns, compressor and air tank. The car will not appear modified after the install since all the parts will be hidden away and the trunk liner will conceal the whole shabang. A guy cut me off and then had the nerve to flick me off on my way to get the install evaluation from the horn tech. That was all the motivation I needed. I'll post a report as soon as this kick-*** uber loud horn system is installed.

Seriously, even as a "slow" diesel driver I can say its time to BLAST the left-lane hogging PUTZ's OUT OF THE WATER with horns or whatever force deemed necessary!

I probably won't be blasting random people. I just want it to fend off all of the terrible drivers around here and those asses who casually stroll out into the street with no regard for my time.

The horn kit arrived today. I went with the Nathan K3 train horn set. These things are huge! Its a real train horn. The 'mouth' end of each horn is about 9 inches across. This is going to be awesome.
