Kleemann guys in UK ?
Spoke to the Kleemann agents in the UK and wondered if anyone on this forum has used them in the past ...
K2 + LSD is £10k (so call it $17,500). Sounds allot more than you guys in the US get charged??
I may even drive the car to Denmark and have it done at Kleemann themselves - nice road trip - get to test out the aparently poor sat nav ... put some miles on ... mmmmm !!!
I suppose I have to get my car first before I start tripping... Great thread Rock ... awesome coverage of your beasts transformation. Cannot wait for the track data !!!

Unfortuntately car tuning in the UK is always much more expensive than it should be. Even for Japanese cars it is the same (from my experience with the Evo), and it is mainly because of VAT and labour charges. Btw, was it RC developments you spoke to? I believe their labour is between 50 - 70 pounds/hour and if the 10k includes headers, ECU, LSD and labour, then it sounds about right considering the extent of the job. If you're thinking of driving to Denmark, why not consider MKB in Germany too?

Yeah MKB sounds good too ... I think they a little more pricey though relative to Kleemann in dk.... MKB also fiddle with the transmission electronics and final drive ratio to get better accel times.
I think all their bigger mods use cams - and dont think I want to go that far...
Maybe they offer an in-between like the K2, but they have not responded to a mail I sent about a month back.
I really like the K headers and their application sounds solid. Would like to look at the transmission mods that MKB do later mbe.

I recall one of the BMW trolls saying that Kleemann is not as respected a tuner in Europe as the other tuners and that hardly anyone in Europe uses them. Is this so?

I spoke to the UK Kleemann agent several times I found him a bit arrogant and ended up buying what I want from the USA. in general I wouldn't deal with him I would do it somewhere else or buy the parts from the USA and find someone who is qualified to install it.

There is also this crowd called DMS Automotive ... certainly cheaper than Kleemann and co ... and think they done allot of conversions with success.
When I mailed them they were upfront about what to do when in cars life and were not pushy to go whole hog initially.

I think I may end up with these guys ... a bunch of enthisiasts rather than a bunch of money rakers. Either that or I take a road trip to Kleeman.dk itself.

I met Rob of DMS in Singapore when he came to tune some cars, and he seemed a nice bloke who was really into his job. Unfortunately I hadn't got my AMG at that time but from my friends feedbacks, he did a very good job on their Maserati 4200 and Turbo S. So if you go that route, do let us know how it turns out as I am also very keen to do the same the next time he's here.
