Widebody W211

I had my friend drive my car to the body shop to get some things done, and while I was behind him driving, I did notice that the car looks so narrow...After thinkin about custom widebodies, I was thinkin about doing something subtle and nothing crazy like that CLK DTM. Something like that Domanig widebody but a custom one. Here is a pic for those that haven't seen it before...

And as far as wheels, since I really like my wheels right now, just send them back to get a bigger barrel and more of a lip So what do you guys think? The back of the Domanig looks good but I think I would make the front stick out a lil more. Opinions?

It looks OK. Personally, I'd leave well enough alone.

Just my 2 cents. The pics look good although i'd leave the chassis the way it is right now. How much wider is that anyway? Is it like a few mm wide or what?

I'm torn. I think of coupes when someone mentions widebodies. The e-class is such a classy car I wouldn't want to mess with it. As long as it isn't overdone and the work is flawless, it could work.
We'll support your decision, go for it.

Like the front...rear seems a bit too much, but that's what kicks about these cars. You can make each one so unique.

I say have at it.

The differences aren't too apparent, keep it stock or go for wider

The flares would most likely be constructed of Bondo no? Your just opening the doors to trouble. Plus your lowering the value of the car. Leave the car alone.

If the car's a lifer, then by all means do it. I know that you won't get anymore money for the additional bodywork if you get rid of it...Man, I truly dislike those rims in the pics.

What size tires on that wide-body?

I personally think the 55 should be more easily distinguishable through more muscle in the body work.

Gone are the good ole days when you saw a 500E coming with its aggressive stance and wide fender flares. You KNEW it was a special, *****-out car compared to other W124's. I was disappointed when they released the W210 E55 and W211 E55K with no noticable differences in the sheet metal.

I'd do it FOR SURE!

widebody / fender flares

It's not a bad idea...just depends on how much it will cost to do the widebody mod.
What does come to mind when you showed these pics are the Audi A6 4.2 model from 2000 thru 2004 model yr...which has a wider body look compared to the regular A6s... also the RS6 model, which I'm sure you are aware of.

I owned a A6 4.2 and loved the look of that car...even compared to the current A6 model. The car is still in the family.

metal, or poly...still has to have something to bond with the car. I had my last car's molding shaved and they welded metal to fill. A year later I could see little bondo waves even though it was mostly metal.
