I appriciate your insight Vic, I might look into that. Oklahoma's income tax laws are extremely strict because that is our states primary source of income (we have nothing to bring in revenue from outside states, so we must rob our residents). I imagine it might be taxable here.

Understood. I was assuming that the "cash back" was just a subtraction from the purchase price. But, it might not be listed that way, depending on how it is written in the sales agreement.

I hope you're right, though.

Local dealer in the paper today had a new 05 CL65 for $139K out the door. Scary how fast these cars have come down from $189K!
Still a ton of $$$$$$$$

I can't believe what a hard sell the CL65 is right now, but even at $129k, it's still a bit pricey for me.
And I thought losing $7-8k when I sell my car after 10 months was bad.

I may go that route when my E55 gets close to the end of its warranty.
If you ask me, the buy back occurs when the dealer cant rectify the problem within 3 tries or spends x amount of days at the dealer for repairs. Since that occurred here, I want nothing to do with it.
From the listing...
! Due to the overly stringent buy-back, otherwise known as Lemon Laws, in California and Florida and New Jersey you as the consumer have the opportunity to save thousands of dollars. This car was reacquired or bought back from the consumer due to warranty issues
