My timeslip today

.........W210 E55 S7 plus 3.06 diff is simply wicked. This run was done from second gear on street legal tires.

..........The S7 is the Kleemann s/c, plus headers. The 3.06 diff has made a HUGE difference. I am still running this car from 2nd gear. This allows for one less shift in the 1/4 mile since the aggressive gearing still spins the tires from 2nd. I purposely purchased a year 2000 W210 E55 because they do not upshift on their own. My best time will be to take off from 1st gear and leave the transmission in 4th gear. It will not upshift. Should do mid eleven's that way. I am yet to find a set of tires that will not shred. Stock W210's do 13.7's in the 1/4 mile. I have dropped almost 2 full seconds from the stock time.

WOW, that was incredible...with drag rads, you should be right there on W211 K2 cars if not a tick faster.

Question Ted, on the 211, all we hear is "don't change the rear as the shift points will be off" Is there a special tranny mod for the 210 that is allowing shift points to be changed or are we learning the shift point thing is a bunch of crap.

I would LOVE to put that ratio in mine!

Hey Baller, wasn't sure what you where saying.....was it that in 5th, the car would be coming close to red as you cross the 1/4 line.

WOW.

............As I understand it: you definitely can get a slower 0-60 time with more aggressive gearing if your car has to make an extra shift to before hitting 60mph. For instance, the new Z06 can hit 60mph while still in 1st gear, so a gear ratio change will hurt the 0-60 time. It is less likely to worsen your 1/4 mile time. Most cars (except perhaps the new Z06) complete all their gear changes before hitting the 1/4 mile. The specific shift points will change but no extra shift will take place. Extra shifts cause you to loose time. I do not know how those specific shift points will change in a 211 E55. My W210 E55 was an experiment I just decided to try with no guarantee of success. I wonder if you need any ratio changes in a W211 E55. The car is so damn fast and you can worsen your 1/4 mile time by creating too aggrssive a gear ratio which will make it harder to launch the car without wheel spin.

.................thanks. I wish Arizona was not too far. I would have liked to show them my G55 K3 that ran a 12.98 1/4 mile today. LINK

...........With a RenntechV12, it looks like you will crush them.
