Another true VIDEO M5 test versus P Turbo,997s.
like all the ones in turkish highway?
you all made up the assumption that the car gustuv had was a ringer and now that a few more videos are coming out nobody here is saying jack ****.At least over at 6speed and rs6 the people are starting to believe gustuv's car
WHY???
Do you expect him to go around on the internet and find m5 videos for goodness sake?
He is racing an m5 with his own Porsche, and he is posting his own video, where he knows what happened exactly.
What is wrong with that?
People should stop thinking M5 is the best and fastest car out there. It gets pretty lame after a while when there is always a lame excuse to defend the loss of the m5.
Except its winnings and its losses at the same time!
like the thread starter for instance.why not only post vids of the m5 losing and then as soon as someone post a vid of it winning they become a troll.
Why dosnt he post any of the videos that had the m5 winning
The M5 has been overhyped, plain and simple. While its a very capable car, its just not AS capable as it was made out to be. The fact that people are unloading their new M5's in record numbers speaks volumes. The car was released well over a month ago and yet we have seen virtually no numbers or comparos. I cant remember this ever happening and I cant remember any car ever having this magnitude of hype surrounding it which makes it that much more suspect. The excuses however, are seemingly endless.
If we add all these things together, it would appear that the car just isnt doing what was expected. And as expected, the blind loyalists continue to go to bat for the M5 and in all likelyhood, will continue to do so as long as they are out from under the rock from which they came.
I don't see it being that over hyped
the only people that are unloading there cars are poeple that dont normally drive m cars.Everyone that has had m powers before know there all about high end power,no knews to them when theres no low end grunt
the m5 is exactly what the m enthusiest wanted plain and simple

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
US market is too important for them...
After 5000km (3100 miles) you will be able to USE Launch control and Rev car to full RPMs...and you well be able to launch at 4000 and get better times then 12.5...
Hope M5 in race will pass 3000 mile break inn period...
Anyone have any news on E63 and when facelift is going to happen and any spy shots...this is the kind of **** I want to talk about.

The fastest was a 12.51. The slowest was a 13.2. Would you like to see them? I thought so!
Autocar tested it at 12.8 @ 119 mph:
Autocar's test results, reported by fastsaloons.com:
An Italian mag got 12.51 @ 191.9 km/h = 119.9 mph:
Italian mag's test results:
Motor Magazine in Australia tested it this month. Result: 12.54 @ 192.5 km/h = 120.3 mph.
Motor Magazine's test results:
EVO magazine tested it at 13.2 @ 116 (assuming Gustav hasn't censored the following; try directly pasting link in separate browser window if doesn't work)

And now we have the Car & Driver results.
So what's you excuse now?

It's sad, really...you guys spent months trolling this forum telling us how the big, bad brand new M5 was just going to grind the poor little three year old E55's into powder at the strip, and now that they're not living up to your expectations, what do we hear?
Excuses...
...excuses...
...excuses...
...excuses...
...excuses...
...excuses...
...excuses...

The M only gains an edge well into triple digit speeds, and as I showed in another post, this is entirely because of the two-gear advantage it enjoys. I mean, if you stuck a three speed in an E55 and raced it against a five speed, what exactly does this prove other than gearing, and hence physics, still works?

But in less than one year, we will see the E63 AMG, which redlines at 7,200 rpm and makes more torque than the M5's peak over nearly its entire rev range.
And it will be coupled with a seven-speed transmission, erasing the M5's gearing advantage. Whaddayathink will happen then? BMW won't be bringing out a new M5 for some timenow...
So you guys have about a year to enjoy your little slice of victory at speeds above 110-120 mph, but down low, it ain't so pretty.
This is where we close our eyes to the other world of cars.
This is where we encourages people to send e-mails to manufacturers so no one will be able to post vids that are bad for MB and sensitive MB-owners.
This is where we don´t want multitude as far as vehicles are conserned.
This is our little sect so leave us alone!!!
The bottom line is that I think it´s way to much to encourage people to write about this to BMW. Just erase the thread and/or post or ban the "trolls"....why is´nt that enough? I know that many others at other boards (for sure, some people here to) enjoy such movies, why ruin the fun for them?
Often people tell more or less true stories about races to read about in any thread and if you´re lucky someone post a crappy movie, shot in the dark, to look at.
Now, Gustav gathers people from all over Sweden with exotic cars to shoot really good vids and because of you, Gustav removes them. I think it would be very sad if we won´t get the opportunity to see such movies later on, regardless of the outcome. I think we all make a mistake if someone writes to BMW, next time it may be reversed situations? Discussions between BMW and MB will go on forever, a year ago the E55 was the undisputible king and BMW owners were informed about it.
My suggestion is to remove unwanted posts, threads or ban unwanted people, but don´t ruin it for all of ut that enjoy such movies. Most of all i´d like to shake hands to the owners of the cars I both love and hate.

This thread is about M5 vs 997 S and 996 Turbo!!!
At least, if I worked for BMW, and the M5 was my pride and joy car, that's what I'd hope as well...
Man it sucks to be 'barely' (or not even) faster than your three year old competitor.

I for one hope many of us chose to utilize the links provided by Improviz and inform BMW of Gustav's hypocritical, offensive and annoying conduct here and on his own board. Its hurting BMW's image and Im sure they would appreciate being notified.
Gustav deserves everything we can throw at him. Dont know why? Search his posting history. And that still doesnt encompass the whole issue, as part of the problem is his own conduct (unjustified bannings and threats, censorship) of our members on his board.
As a mercedes owner my opinion is that they are both great cars. Which car is better is up to every individual. There'll never be a concensus.
Well, myself and others think his conduct is unbecoming, and, for the reasons I outlined above, are complaining to them about this particular spokesman.
Which is why I decided to do something about it.

My original plan was to trade in the E55 for the M5 but I got frustrated after all the waiting, the lack of low end torque, the in my opinion cheap interior, the ugly headlights I never get used to, the unaccpetable ergonomics, and the initial quality control issues.
It appears BMW needed too much time to sort out the production issues. If I were to pick up an M5, I would probably wait a little while, but then, the E63 will be out, so will the 997TT.
Yes, I'm definitely not the typical M5 driver who would choose the M5 regardless. But then, BMW still got my money, while I'm keeping the E55, I picked up a nice 2006 750Li for the smooth and quiet ride.
Of course, the E55 is far sportier. I can't believe BMW doesn't allow me to downshift without doing a 3-step exercise, and there isn't a shortcut to firm up the suspension! Poor ergonomics.
I'm trying to be sarcastic here, can you help me out a little bit
