E63 Pictures
Germancarfans.com has caught the e63 on film and has a small paragraph on it:
Somewhat more powerful will be the new E63 AMG T-Wagon by Mercedes, snapped here for the first time and yet wearing the facelifted grille and bumper. We expect the new power-estate to develop an output of something like 470bhp. Like the Audi S6, the new E63 could make its first public appearance at next year’s Geneva Show.
You can view the pictures at this site, it is a glimpse at the new update:

2003 E55 & 2014 GL550
Well, if that is the case, we better figure out how we like to eat our humble pie. A 470hp E63 will get deessstrrrroooyyyed by the M5.
If they roll with a reduced hp 6.3 in the E class, I will be violent.
Wow, that is some of the worst news I have heard all year.
Again....the scene in the boardroom
"Okay gents, we have a true collector car on the market in the E55, anyone have an idea how we can F it up?"
Pee-on "We coullllddddd take off the blower and have it get humiliated by the new M5 in handling AND straight line performance"
"Brilliant Jenkins.....ohhhh, there's a future for you yet at Mercedes"

Well if those pics are in fact the E63, I guess we dont need expect much of a facelift. Headlights look to be identical as does the rest of the car save for the front bumper.

Why would they put out a 63 engine that is making only 1 marketing HP more than the current lineup?
People here consistently dyno at ~500hp at the crank, so that would make it 30 real hp less than the current lineup.
If the 63 engine does not put out more than 500hp at the crank, it would be a waste of time. Moreover, they better think about the torque curve too, or else KLEEMANN will have to develop something to flatten out the torque curve ala supercharger.

what kind of language is that. I do not see any credibility here.

This post means nothing. First of all, it is typical for AMG or MB in Germany to mount redesigned parts on existing vehicles for testing purposes. I have seen pictures from about a year or so ago of an E55 fitted with the same bumper as the SL65 with the round foglights, squared lower grill and gills on the sides. Was that an E63? I think not. Check out the AMG website also - there are pictures all over the site of an E55 Pace Car that is retrofitted with this bumper. Moreover, that bumper looks somewhat boxy like the one on the new ML63. The rest of the body, however, is exactly the same as the current style. I can guarantee there will be no "redesigned" body that is just an old body style with a new bumper. Nobody does that. German Car Fans found something being tested and for the sake of publicity, labled it as an E63 so that they could throw it in an article with an M5 wagon and S6 Avant. Fear not - THIS IS NO E63.
As far as the engine output debate goes...check this out. I copied this from a link that was RIGHT BELOW the picture of the "E63 Wagon" on GCF which read:
New AMG 6.3 Liter V8
Mercedes-AMG has taken a completely new departure: the new AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine is the first in the world to combine the high-revving concept with a large displacement. Developed entirely by AMG, this high-performance engine has a displacement of 6.3 litres and generates an output of 375 kW/510 hp at 6800 rpm, plus a maximum torque of 630 Newton metres, which makes the new power pack by AMG the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated eight-cylinder production engine. Thanks to its large displacement, the V8 by AMG develops around 20 percent more torque than comparable naturally aspirated engines in this performance class.
Who says the E63 will have 470 hp?

I'm quite shocked that everyone is jumping up and down and calling me a troll. I found this article on another forum and since it included the e63, i thought you guys might like to read. I don't post often, im more of a post reader, but sometimes news comes up i post it. I enjoy all makes of cars and certainly am not playing off one brand against another.
And yes i don't believe the 470hp figure either, it should be equivilent to the ml63 power figures at least.
Ive been on these forums for around 3 years, only signed up last year because i wanted to post a thread before about the e63.

a few...
this is no facelifted E wagon AMG. I just went and looked at the pics of my old E55 wagon, not old but we sold it after a couple of months because my mom wanted something else... shes crazy but anywho. I looked at the pics and everything is the same minus the front bumper, which as stated before, is most likely a retrofit.
With the 6.3 info of 470 bhp... now why would they have it rated 1 hp more for a whole new engine, especially with 510/503 numbers already out. Germancarfans only wanted a story to go along with the other wagons so they posted these pics hoping that people with average car knowledge wouldn't think twice about it.

actually, the front end has a bra obscuring the bumper, but from what i can see, underneath the bra the lines of the bumper are identical to those of my e55 wagon. the rest of the car is likewise identical. perhaps they're muling the current body to test the engine, perhaps the photos are not an e63 after all. i didn't notice any "63" badging; in fact, the car has the "sport" decal behind the front wheels, and what could easily be stock (but pretty huge) wheels, not racier amg wheels (they don't look like the cls55's wheels, which are newer than the current e55 design; rather, they look more like the wheels on the last-generation "final edition trim" slk of a couple years ago). since you can currently buy an e class sedan with an "amg sport appearance package" that makes it look everything like an e55 save for the wheels, what's to say that the photos posted aren't just a similarly appearance'd e class wagon tooling around the streets of germany?
edit: see photos of the wheels here:

Check out this link to Edmunds. There is a video of the E55 Wagon (below, middle) and if you look to the right theres a link to a pretty good M5 video as well. Edmunds.com

2012 C63 Coupe Iridium Silver
Do you guys notice how the front grille comes to more of a point at the bottom?
*edit*
and the front spoiler looks like an adaptation of the 65 style bumpers (or slk55) with the square jaw rather than rounded

i would never in a million years give up my supercharged blood for a normally aspirated engine from mercedes! i have read several times that the e55 will be replaced by a bi-turbo 5.5L with an output of around 553hp- this is supposed to be an all new 5.5L to replace the e55's current setup?? anyone else hear this???

There are going to be different horsepower's for different cars re:the 6.3. As an example, the CLK is getting a reduced HP version, this may explain some of the confusion.

My sources say the E55 will keep the 5.5 S/C for now, and that there will be subtle changes to the front sheetmetal. I wonder if they are going to include the new crumple-zones build into the E (ala the ML? and GL?)....

as for the hood ornament deletion thing, i've only got one word: "pussies"!

I think that the new crumple zones are in the front hood, for 'pedestrians and cyclists'. My limited US understanding is that the European Community passed pedestrian and cyclist (front impact with vehicle) safety standards to take effect in 2007. Because the supercharger is alot of metal and sits where it does, it was assumed/feared that to meet the standards superchargers would have to go. Hence the development of new NA engines and the interest in going back to biturbo's (two turbos, a smaller earlier spinning one and a larger later spinning one mostly eliminate turbo-lag which is viewed as a negative). It appears that MBZ developed the hood crumple zones to allow keeping the S/C'ers (which they have indicated that they are going to keep on the -55's).
That's my understanding....
