Feedback on Kleemann K2
Seeking some real-world feedback on the Kleemann K2 upgrade:
Performance difference?
Who did your installation? (local shop?)
Thanks!

MB 2006 CLS55 K4/LSD, 2006 VY C6Z06, 2005 X5 4.4
I shoud have a report for you in a next week, RPM Racing is doing my CLS55. They are putting in K2 + Throttle body + Kleemann IC Pump. They are also putting in the exhaust bypass,(basically a straight pipe effect, bypass the mufflers, but it can contolled on and off). We estimating about 625 horses and about 675 tor. We will see, I would like to have it dyno'd to get more exact numbers. I will let you know.

Speaking of Kleemann, does anyone with a K3 have any specific data, e.g. timeslips, etc? I don't believe I have read any feedback on K3s. I really would like to know the difference in K2 and K3. I am getting the bug. I think I will shoot for 180 or so. Ready Clay?

Just can't say enough....the performance difference for me was night and day. Wild part is, there is only about a .5 or less difference in 1/4 mile times (guess in dragging that can be an eternity), but we have stockers running 11.9 and the fastest K2 we have I believe ran 11.4 (of course the D Man).
I just cannot tell you the difference it makes....car just explodes forward. I have made a lot of stink lately about how horrible the car will launch without LSD, but with stockers running 11.9, I think I need to sprinkle a little powdered sugar on that humble pie. I will always say LSD will launch better, but again, 11.9 stock is pretty darn good launching, so go figure.
Bottom line.....you are gonna smile non stop for about the first 3 days of first stomping it....then the smile turns evil and you go looking for kills.
Enjoy.

JakPro!: that does it! You have finally poisoned me-I am taking mine in on Monday the 16th to have the 'open hood' surgery, ie. K2 w/ LSD :v . Do they put any decals on advertising the job?
I also want them to paint my calipers, please give suggestions on color and durability, my car is Pewter.Last question is does the dealership have the potential to reflash the ECU and corrupt the K2 upgrade? Thanks again for the sweet temptation. Joker

Calipers - Gold, that way when you burn off the paint, nobody will notice.
ECU flash - I believe the dealer can reset it to factory settings. You should be able to have it reset by Kleemann. They should not charge, (but you should check with your tuner) as Renntech does not charge to reset it after the dealer messes it up.

2005 SL55
I had Cory do the Stage 2 modifications to my '05 SL55 last November. OD pulley, ECU, limited slip and headers. Though I don't have time slips I can easily spin the rear tires at 50 to 60 mph with traction control on. The exhaust sound is awesome and the throttle response is pure animal. I had a '94 Porsche 3.6 that would accelerate like this when the turbo spooled up at 3000 rpm, the SL55 does it from idle. I suppose an E55 would respond much the same as my SL?

The K2 and LSD are a heck of a lot of fun. I haven't found a good place to get a proper dyno yet. The dynos I had done gave me 445rwhp, this is with the car hot and a wimpy fan "coughing" to feed/cool the engine. We figure it should dyno about 20 to 30 more rwhp with proper air flow across the engine. The car sounds fantastic all the time with the headers. Pure music when accelrating.
To be able to blow a corvette away at 160 in a car that feels like it's going 55 and pampers you is a rush like no other. Kleemann is worth it.

Had the K2,LSD,IC mod set up for over 9 months with no issues! I was about to get the TB installed but someone wanted to buy the car. The new owner just installed the TB and he loves the complete package.
Next month when I am in Atlanta will drive my old car and see how much of a upgrade the TB made.
We all say that you never put value in mods when selling your car, but in my case a buyer was looking for a modded turn-key "Beast" and I was able to sell my 04 E55 after 2 years of ownership for over $80K.
Going crazy trying to figure out what I want next

are you one of the two e55's getting the k2 installed at Sattish? I may drop by at the end of the week (gone for business all week) to see the installs. I was thinking of having the E55 done as well - perhaps you can take me for a test drive to sell me
