Don't ruin my dreams guys LOL

Even though 997TT is slower than Z06..... it still has the COOL factor . And you could get it for 1/2 the price of lambo and ferrari

I'm honestly a bit disappointed.... hopefully the news is not true.... I expected 997TT to get 500+ hp as the 996TT S already has 444hp. Could be the new 997TT X50 or S is the one that receives 500+hp powerplant.

Anyway you look at it the car to the stripe is the winner. Just because a car has more hp doesn't make it the automatic winner/quicker car. When you're putting a car together suspension and being able to hook up is more important than that extra 50hp. You can have all the power in the world but if some jacka** can't get it to hook everytime, it's worthless and it's a slower car/looser. No way around it.

E63 biturbo
Raced a 996 turbo S 2 weeks ago and was quite impressed with how quick that car's acceleration is. My car had ECU, pulley & filters and his car was stock. I got the jump on him from the lights. Was about 3 cars ahead by end of 1st but did a bad gearchange into 2nd which took more than 1 second. During the gearchange he caught up and was on my ****. With the momentum advantage he was slowly gaining on me until 3rd gear when we were side by side but had to stop at the lights. The amazing thing was that he had 2 passengers while i had none! We went our seperate ways after that and who knows what the outcome would have been if I had got a second run with him or if the race had continued beyond 3rd gear.

CLS 55 AMG
Off the line my CLS beats my TT (chipped)...while the CLS feels as fast in some areas as the TT..it's not...but it feels it and the torque must be respected.

Cant really compare em....

Us e55 guys need to learn how to handle defeat, stock for stock, mod for mod, given equal drivers the zo6 is definately the faster of the two.
There will be times when a e55 will win against a zo6,but that does not mean that its faster........maybe the zo6 driver is scared to take the car to its limit.
A zo6 is a scary car to drive fast, because at high speed it wanders, whilst the e55 is a piece of cake to drive at high speed, because its rock steady.........take this from someone who knows, someone who owns both cars, and run them to their limit. However my favourite car is still by far the e55.
Speaking on prices, even with its high technology the corvette is a piece of junk.Look inside its all plastic, look under the hood, its not neatly tucked away
like most cars.None the less it runs like a scald dog,and handles like its on rail.
MB and BMW cars to name a few displays good quality workmanship, fair realibility and performance.

Sorry, but I beg to differ with you on that. I finally got a chance to run with a C6Z today in my 996, we were coming onto the freeway on ramp, I wasn't sure he was going to race (most guys in the C6Z's don't), so he got a slight jump on me, I caught him and passed him half way through 2nd gear, when I looked at the speedo, I was going 140 and he was about 8 car lengths behind me and falling back fast, I hit the brakes and he came flying be me, probably at over 150mph. The moral of the story is...don't judge a book by it's cover, If you don't know a lot about 996's mine looks like it could be stock, until I step on the gas

Whatever keys I grab first...

Someone needs to learn how to drive... or you just have a f**ked E55. Look, no pun intended, but I've owned an '03 E55 and have raced everything from 355 F1s, to Z06s, to GTOs, to 360s to Vipers-- destroying each and everyone of them. Now, I don't know where you live, but I live next to the ocean, so I might be running strong numbers, but regardless, I find it hard to believe you got spanked as bad as you did-- but than again, why would you be lieing?

Just saying, it takes alot to take down an E55. Is yours broken in? Are you sure you floored it?

If a C-Class can do it, I believe the E-Class can do it.

Can't find the thread, but I recall someone running 11.8 with a stock E55. Which mind you, beats some of the published numbers of the new Z06.

Uh, dude, the e55 isn't in the new z06's league. That is great that someone ran an 11.8 stock and it beats some magazine times, but that doesn't matter. To compare times both cars have to be there on the same day. Plus, the z06 traps almost 10 mph higher than an e55, it isn't even remotely close. The z06 has more power than the e55 and a thousand pounds less weight. Are you good at math?

Well first off let me say congrats on having a car that can not be beaten. I think I can handle driving my E55 in straight line but thanks. I am sorry you have an issue with my race but hey it happens and I lost to a faster car. No big deal I am faster then alot of cars but there is always something that is faster then me. I must say you seem to beat anything that pulls up on you so you must be the best driver on here!

You are obviously the first person to ever lose in an E55......what a disgrace, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Hey!!!! did I ever tell about the time my Kleemann E55 barely beat a top fuel dragster..............................

05 Pewter E55 (Sold) 2006 Flint Grey E55
I raced a 996 turbo yesterday from about a 20mph roll. I steadily pulled him until about 100, I then let off as we were coming up onto traffic.

I have owned an 02 Z06 (stock, then 587rwhp, then transformed into 840rwhp). It would would be difficult for a Z06 to beat an e55 on the street, but on the fwy the z06 has a good chance of beating the e55 if the z06 has the right punch off gear and is not caught off guard.

fwiw... The only race I lost in my Z06 was to an E55 when my Z was stock. It was on the freeway and the E55 caught me offguard, in the wrong gear, and I did not have enough to catch up... the E was GONE!
