A sad time is coming soon, help me evalute my E55 value

My car note will be up on 6/20/06, and I will sadly have to sell my E55 this summer. I bought her "used" in 6/20/01 with 6000 miles on it (ive been around here tooo long). 2000 W210 E55 90,000 miles, 10k on p-zero nero's, refinished wheels. MB Starmarked to 100k miles. H&R springs, only option is cd changer. Paint is in great condition. It was in one accident, frontal, no motor or suspension damage, all cosmetic, fixed by a MB dealer, all documentation from accident...scale from 1-10 on the repaint and repair was about an 8. Not sure what the used car market looks like now, hopefully it will be a bit better early summer? What do you think the market will bear for a vehicle such as mine, trade in and private sale? Thanks for the help guys.

Jay

what are you getting next?

Curious ... what are getting next?

I'd bet your price would probably be around mid 20s. High mileage and accident.

Don't mean to discourage.... but at eBay, there's one w/ 88K. The Buy-It-Now price is $19,xxx.

If you were in CA, you'd have been a bit luckier.... things would sell around mid-20's.

I would assume mid 20's to be retail?

Not sure what im going to be getting next, im upside down in this one a bit, and Im building a business right now and need to be somewhat conservative this purchase. Kicking around a the idea 545i sport, I thought about the C55, but I dont want a "C Class" no offense to anyone, my buddies C55 crushes my E in a race, but is just doesnt have the same fit and finish as an E. It HAS to be European, mid 40k..... Ill have to see how cash reserves are come June.

I'd guess 18-19. at best.
If your accident is not on the carfax or anything, just don't tell anyone it ever happened. If it fixed properly, no one would notice, and your conscience is ok, cos you know that everything is done right. People tend to run away from accident car or want VERY cheap price only.
Check Edmunds – I find their price estimates to be very realistic. All cars I ever sold, I sold them exactly at the price Edmunds private party TMV suggests.

I need to advertise my 02 in CA )))LOL
I have it here on cars.com for 2 month, for 33k or smth, and 0 calls.
Bad time of year, but still. Hard cars to sell.

Couldn't agree more.... the new "C" interior design is undoubtedly better.... but the quality... it's a lot worse. You could feel it when you touch those buttons. Plastic and fragile feeling. I'm just hoping my C doesn't fall apart in a few year.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why do you have to sell it. If your note is up in June, that shoudl meant that it's paid off. Why start a new loan when you are trying to build a business??? Keep the car you have and when the time is right, your business can buy you a new E55.

When I purchased my vehicle I did what MBZ called "flex financing" Which is similar to a lease in that you only finance a portion of the vehicle in an effort to get lower payments, but unlike a lease I get the title and unlimited miles. Thats all fine and dandy, what wasnt fuc**ng explained to me was that my financing was open ended....meaning at the end of the term, the residual value must be paid or refinanced.....I was young at the time (28 or so) and new to money (no excuse). Now on 6/20/06 I owe MBZ Financial Services $30490.00 which really sucks, and will make a big dent in my cash reserves. I basically have to dump the car. If I was smart Id get something cheap for like 8k cash and roll in that for a few years while I put some money away instead of another $900+ car payment. Im getting into buying/liquidating leftover computer equipment/office equipmnet etc and reselling it on ebay and it requires that I have a decent amount of cash on hand. For once in my life I actually enjoy what Iam doing for a living...its quite a liberating feeling.

$900 a month for something that depreciates?????????????? I would never do that even if I could afford it. I have a hard enough time with the small amount that I'm gonna be paying for the new C230 that's coming, knowing that it will drop $5k in the first month. I have not had a car payment for the past 6 years and would love to be there again, but no choice unless I want to buy something for the $12,000 that I got from my insurance Co.

I would put the bulk of that $900 in to your business or a house that will appreciate. Even buying some rental property makes more sense as it will eventually bring income that can be spent on a car.

I've never heard of the financing that you had from MB. What a scam. Obviously created to suck in young people that want more than they can afford! What would your car have cost in total if you add up your down payment, monthly payments and the buy out figure???? My guess is twice the sticker price????

So, you got Reggie's car? Good job and congrats. You will have to post pics. Did the baseball come with it?

Try this...Find someone who can hook you up with an export agent and try to find a buyer in Central or South America. I have talked to some people here in South Florida who have moved 5 year old Tahoes and Yukons down there for close to six numbers!! I'm looking into it my self and when it develop it I will let you know. Seems like in the Bannana Republics the rich are VERY rich and they like high end cars but don't want to pay big import tariffs on new cars. Just a thought.
