Thinking of getting my stock wheels refinished.... no Bling!

I got a set of used stock wheels on eBay to use during winter. Since i got the wheels im contemplating on getting it refinished (no chrome or bling style). Maybe a darker gray or anything to give the car a more aggressive style. What do you all think?

i wouldn't mess with them personally, there is only so much you can do with the factory wheel and unfortunately that would be chrome plating which wouldn't look that well;not to mention the extra weight.painting them wouldn't look good either as there is no way to have a polished lip to contrast the center as it is a one piece wheel.

some may consider it ghetto, but i think it's quite an aggressive, "tuff" look to have all-black (no chrome lip) wheels on a silver car. gives it a nascar sort of vibe. may not be for everyone, however.

Chrome is out! There is a new patented process for a chrome look or Black chrome and other colors which is similar to powder coating. Honda Ridgeline is the first manufacturer/car to use the process on their chrome wheel upgrade. The company is in Cali and was featured at SEMA.

The process gets around all the negatives of chrome. No heat distorsion or corrosion issues.

I don't like it when its all black. If its black, it has to have a silver or chrome rim around. Maybe all gunmetal would be good.

I hope that they did not use a "graffiti-special" $5.00 can to do the whole car
in the garage, holding a beer in the other hand...

no its not, there have been companies black chroming motorcycle parts, motorcycle wheels and car wheels among other things since at least the 60's. even in the 80's on japanese sport bikes they stopped selling them with all the normal chrome parts then went to the cheaper black chrome and then finally plastic parts. black chroming is pretty similar to the regular chroming process just with a few different steps and a few different chemicals. also it doesnt make a difference if its new chroming or chroming of a refinished wheel, the wheel has to be stripped regardless. if you dont believe me, search google.
