Get tires from the Rack or local shop?
What is the Rack's angle here?
Costco is one-stop shopping with road hazard warranty availability; with Tire Rack you can get your tires heat-cycled....
I used to deal with one local shop in each of my locales, for various reasons.... Now I find myself buying mostly from both Tire Rack and Costco.

I would go Costco, but they refuse to sell me 275/35s versus the stock 265/35s, since the load rating is at 95 vs 99. I understand the difference, and my thought is that it will eat up the tires faster, not risk the car. I figure worst case, I get less miles and or a blister (if that). I doubt I'll have a blow out at speed as the tech was warning.
Anyhow, i liked the local (Costco) option, since it is a one stop. Now, I have to find somebody to do the install that I trust. I get pretty scared letting people put the car up on racks.

A question I have always had comes up again. Looking at the 4 wheel alignment stat sheet DT provided me and the time the tech spent, it seems a fairly daunting task to align these cars. For decades we all have heard that,
"you hit one pot hole and you're out of alignment."
So, does anyone have actual data showing, even by inference, what a "pot hole" or a "test pot hole" or some such equivalent did to an alignment-front/rear? Seems something must be out there, even if it is looking at the question backwards...X car's alignment is more likely than Y car's alignment to stay true because...and X manufacturere tested this using ...??
Thank you very much
