Thanks! It's not quite done yet and that isnt my car that's pictured.
But I think that is the configuration that I am going to run with.. if it doesnt work out, then the SLR style is the only option left....

Will do!
As soon as the snow clears and spring breaks I will have everything installed on my own car along with the heads, cams, ported blower, and bunch of other stuff I have in the works... I'll do some serious datalogging and see where the IAT's are at. That should give me a good indication of its potential.
Final proof has to be in the dead of summer to make sure all the power the car generates can be kept under control.

Oh so this happened to me tonight. I was doing several hard runs and it did it a couple times on the freeway around 75mph. So it's normal? It's just getting hot and the ECU telling it to chill out?
OMG! I HATE TRULY HATE WHEN THE IT HAPPENS. I PUNCH IT 2-3 TIMES HARD AND IT STOPS WORKING. I WANTED TO SHOW MY FRIEND HOW FAST IT IS AND IT STOPPED WORKING. SO EMBARRASSING.
MB should get to the bottom of this S/C shut down, iron out the problem and fix via recall or whatever. If they expect to retain their well earned status as leaders of the industry it’s a no brainer on their part.
Q. As I don’t know the answer. Does the Shelby Mustang, Lightning, XK8R and other supercharged depreciating assets suffer the same fate with supercharger shutdown or is this BS isolated to MB product?

Are you sure this is temperature related?
Couldn't this be a preprogrammed "safe" mode in the ECU? ie if WOT occurs for X duration in a given period = shutdown supercharger.
I seem to remember the BMW M5 has a preprogrammed safety mode that prevents multiple uses of the launch control within a specified period of time.
Why couldn't the E55 have a similar feature?
I have no idea how you could prove/disprove it, unless MBZ has some "small print" somewhere.

90deg here in Florida, and humid. S/C shut off after about 10 minutes driving, never came back on rest of the day, even after stop for dinner. What concerns me is how hot the engine gets, specifically the s/c. I parked it in my driveway about 7pm last night and at 7am this morning I put my hand on the s/c and it is still warm to the touch, barely warm, but warm none the less. Is there something I should check quick, or is this normal?

Was checking the Benz parts catalog online (intercooler pump) and they pretty much summed it up. **This is supposed to be a note for stealers** "Parts in short supply, please make sure ........before replacing part"
6.3's are in and only few G55's a sold each year. Benz doesn't care anymore bout us 5.5Komp guys.

Brought it to dealer yesterday..they agree to he problem and they believe it is something they did while executing recall for fuel sender module while I had it in for tires and alignment last week. They found a kinked fuel hose yesterday but that didn't change anything after fix. I asked if they flashed the ECU, and they said they never do that on an AMG unless they absolutely have to, and they didn't here. They rejected the idea it was I/C pump or anything engine related. They are going to take the fuel tank apart and see if the fuel sender is working. No codes or idiot lights, just half power..runs 0-60 in about 8 secs. Its going back in today.
Is there anything they could have done accidentally without throwing a code or light?

on other thread, i remember a member mentioning the dealer fixed this problem... since i haven't had hard runs, i don't know if my s/c will shut off too or not... but on my next service, i will mention to SA that it shuts off and see what they have to say...
Update: Dealer checked I/C pump...dead. New one on order. Took car back until part comes in...oddly enough power restored on ride home..they must have wiggled it enough to work again, but about 10 minutes later it went back to low power. So i guess its intermittent. They said $900 to fix...ouch..but have MB service warranty.. no wait they said it had a 30 day wait period from when I signed up because it was after expiration of original warranty (not what saleperson told me when I bought it..said it was effective immediately because they do 100 point car checkout prior to acceptance for warranty..which they did and said car was in perfect condition 27 days ago) so now they don't know if warranty will accept claim. A new drama. I think there is some BS flying here.
This past weekend I was driving on the edge of Death Valley at about 90 degree temp, blasts up to 140 on the desert road and after a few mins the sc shut off, but it would come back after a couple of minutes.
My car is a stock 06, question... is the new sc a replacement even for the 06's?

Drama continues, dealer ordered IC pump, received wrong part. Ordered again got right part and installed, but same problem..they say they hope I like the rental car I have..I said is this a joke? They said they may have to keep it for while to figure it out. At this point they have no idea what to do next but will keep looking. AAAARGH.
