-10 C Cooling Mod
Hey guys, i have a question for all of you who have had your dealers lower the fan temp to kick on 10 degrees cooler than normal. What do you tell/ask your dealer to do this? Mines going in the shop tomarrow and would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your replies.

My 06 (and others I've tested) runs incredibly cool especially being in S Florida (the cooling fan does run quite often however). Just tell your dealer to set the cars cooling fan to 06 specs.

I know on many other cars the engine temperature is controlled by a mechanical thermostat. Is it just as simple on the E55 to lower the temperature? Just swap the stock thermostat for a lower temperature one.
Any help would be appreciated.

Found the lower limit
"A Heads-Up"
Yesterday I had the stealership lower the turn-on temp that the cooling fan comes on. The head tech is a great guy and wanted to see if it could be done also.
We found the factory program only allows it to be set -2C lower. I figure thats about 5 degs lower.

My car was running the stock program in the ECU at the time I had this mod done and it was a -10C max value. My car is a 2003 so maybe they changed this in other years??

Guy's there is no colder ,just drop in thermostat. I'm working on one as we write. The local MB dealership down here has a cool tech. We went thru the Star Diag today Step by Step and found the page . Here's a scan copy. Take care ___PTE___

I had my -10c mod done at the same shop that did my Renntech goodies and I was told that there was "lots of room left if we want to go cooler" when I picked up the car. Mine's an '04. So what's the deal with all the variance in adjustability??? Is it the software from year-to-year or maybe even the version of diagnostics that the techs are working with??
