Guys need help on my next car.

Guys its time for me to get out of my slow *** crappy quality dashbord misery 6 cyl ML350!

I'm married have 1 kid. Love SUVS roomy easy to haul things around, at the same time i understand that 95% of the time i dont need awd. And 80% i see that i dont really need an SUV.

Cars im thinking about:

1. 05 E55 ( if i get it Defenetly will go with evo sport or K2 + lsd)

2. 06 E63 ( my dealer told me they are getting one end of this month and i WILL test drive one)

3. ML63 - fast somewhat sporty truck!

04. MAybe 04/05 Cayenne turbo a very nice car too, and can be moded with ECU for 500hp and 500 trq. Much better quality!

Just cant make up my mind.

ALso Buy or lease? Currently leasing. Will keep the car for at least 3 years.

What do you think?

An E63 or E55 is a given but if you want an SUV, don't go with the Cayenne - personally I think the interrior could be alot better. I say hands down ML63. Without a doubt it will be the fastest, most up to date Sport Utility Vehicle when it is released and you can never argue with MB comfort. Either that or check out a Jeep SRT-8. That thing is sweeet.

If you must have some 4wd and really like the SUV ride I'd go with the cayenne Turbo. If you are ready for something new that will blow you away, lease an e63 and tell us what its like!~

I will test drive E63 as soon as they come here. But yea E55 and with k2 is very tempting option

But e63 is very special car especially with 6.3 AMG desinged engine!

If you dont need AWD or something huge, then I would get the E63. I know the guys at Kleemann will have something up their sleeve to get more power out of it.

Bob,

What do you think of the ML's interior? I had a chance to drive an ML350 loaner (a stripped one I might add). I think the interior is not very comfortable, and the seat position as well as the throttle position seemed to be weird. Try out the ML63 before you make a decision. If it felt anything like the regular MLs, I wouldn't even consider touching it.

Go with the beast with Evo Stage 2, Intercooler, and AMG LSD.

Gotta say, the E63 review I read this AM kinda left me stunned.

They praised the handling, dropped and worshipped the new brakes. Holy Crap.....starting to get.....harder toooooo......resist...must keep.....E...55!!

Sorry to go OT, has anyone driven this thing? I just got a phone call from the local dealership, since I was on their list for it. I may go down and drive it, even though I have no intentions of buying it. Seems you can't get much better bang for the buck in a sport ute.

I used to had an '01 Grand Cherokee and despite most people's complaints, I never had any real problems with mine and I love driving it.

I love Jeeps, so understand that. How is it an SUV? A solid rear axle sport ute? Plus, it has the weak link 4X4 system (since they have no AWD) and has an airdam just off the ground.

So, lets see where this vehicle excels. On the road....any of the SRT-8s are the same. Off road, it can't compete!

E63....

E55 K2

and Porsche SUV.

The ML63 just does not stand out as much as it should. You can get a ML500 with AMG appearance package, and it looks just about the same.

If you need the additional space of a truck but prefer the handling of a car (who wouldn't?), then consider the E55 or RS6 wagons (including the Avant-only RS6 Plus). I should caveat that saying my bro has a S4 Avant but is not 100% happy with it.

Most luxury SUVs don't actually have that much more cargo capacity than their wagon counterparts. The new ML has, I think, 7-8% more cargo capacity than a E-class wagon.

And if you really don't need the SUV-like cargo space that much, just get a sedan.

BTW, if you're used to a ML320, maybe even the E500 (in either form) will feel super fast (relatively speaking).

Bob has a 2006 ML350 and before that he had a 2004 E55 in Designo. He needs another AMG to move back to and I think the E63 is the perfect candidate.

I second all of the above remarks, and would only add that, unlike the dude's bro and his S4, my satisfaction is absolutely 100% with the e55 wagon!

Seriously, sounds like you want the thumping power and perhaps more manageable driveability/handling of a sedan but would like to hang onto the more practical aspects of the SUV thang... I highly recommend going the wagon route for all of those reasons - it's what I did and wouldn't do it any different if I had it to do over! Plus, the exclusivity of having one of only 250 of that model/year on the continent is pretty cool too.

Of course, the e55T is probably best suited for a "buy and hold" type of owner, since when I bought mine I had the impression that the dealers don't have a very easy time moving them (so reselling it might be a bit of a hassle down the road).

just my two bits.

That's funny because I have an '03 E55 but have been in the market to find a Cayenne Turbo as a second car. Personally I have reasons for wanting both but if I had to choose between the two, the beast would be my keeper. But then again getting the E55 wagon would be a good compromise.

Yes, if you hold for a while, the wagon may keep its value better. After all, they are much rarer. Perhaps 10% (or maybe less) of E55's and S6's sold in the US are wagons/avants.

But that's a secondary benefit. Sounds like, for both your performance and utility needs, a hi-performance wagon is the way to go. Unless you never go through a bend while you drive, E55/S6 wagon over Cayenne any day (just think of the difference in their centers of gravity!)

with the beast-wagon, you could change your middle name to "Well".
