ITG Profilter Air Filters
If anyone else is interested in them, the Part # you want is WB-379
Here is a little blurb on the product:

Of course, like everything else, I'll let you guys know what I think once I install and try them out.

Or does the breathing change actually show up in use as a different feel at all (suspect not as most advertise around 3-5 HP gain).
Curious...thanks
OH BTW the selector says E55 is WB-537(x2) and that the WB-379 is S class...are you sure on the number?

The online application chart is wrong.
WB-537 is 334mmx188mm
WB-379 is 350mmx133mm
WB-379 is what we need.

I do appreciate your input though.. Thanks.

Turns out the guys I talked to are no longer distributing the product so I was going to order direct from UK... Did you get yours local in the USA somewhere?
If you could pass along the info I would rather buy from the US than ship from UK. Thanks!!

I have to get on the dyno to check current powerlevel so I will wait until these arrive and then do 2 pulls to see if there is any noticeable gains.
We tested these (ITG) filters on our racecar E36 M3 (euro 3.2 normally asp). We found that the K&N filters made a tad more hp & tq + 1 or 2 when brand new over the ITG filter. After several races on both filters the ITG filter barely dropped in hp & tq. On the other hand the K&N made less power -3 hp at peak rpm. After a wash and re-oil on the K&N it was still down approx 2hp to the dirty ITG. We then cleaned the ITG and made the exact same power when it was new.
I’m sure several conclusions could be made. Our thoughts were:
1. We might have used too much oil on the K&N after cleaning clogging the pores. Resulting in lower power than new.
2. We did not oil the ITG enough
3. The dyno was throwing off wrong numbers
In either case, the ITG was always consistent and easy to maintain. We inspected the intake after running both filters and noticed no increase in dust or oil residue, it was always clean. Again this was on a normally aspirated motor. The 55 might have a differnt outcome.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck!
I look forward to seeing your results!
Been a little pre-occupied with trying to finish off this 80mm TB project though, so the filters are still sitting waiting to be installed. They'll have to wait until I am ready to do another baseline dyno pull.
The car was sitting for a while before I got onto the dyno so the engine was stone cold for the first run. I actually had to bring it up to operating temp while on the rollers.
I ran the car with my BMC filters first, then swapped out for the ITG profilters.. It took 15min for me to swap the air filters..
Bottom line is that the ITG filters showed -2rwhp and -2rwtq on the second pull.. Now, usually the second pulls are at least 10rwhp - 20rwhp (if not more) lower because of the heat soaking on a stone cold car.
I personally think the ITG filters are flowing better because it feels a bit more responsive while driving, but, because the car went on really cold and then ran hot for the second pull it's hard to make proper conclusions.
I am going to leave them in the car for a while and do some more pulls when I get some time.
They definitely provide more airflow to the motor than the BMC filters I had, BUT, I noticed that the rubber edges that run along the perimeter are a few mm shorter than the other filters.. They seem to move around a bit too much when you insert them and that bothers me a bit. I wouldnt want them to collapse in the airbox and let all kinds of crap through.
I need to verify whether I have an anomaly or whether this is the norm for these filters.. I sent an email to ITG and am waiting a response.
If you need filters right away, I would say grab the BMC. I havent tried the Green filters, so I cant comment on those.
