Stay away from M6's

Don't race any M6's.

Car and Driver just tested an M6 and it's trap speed in the q/m was 121 mph! That's 997 TT territory.

but you also realize tht the M6 has launch mode and thats probably why the speed was so high

launch mode doesnt have anything to do with a high trap. A 60ft does but not a high trap.

What the high trap is telling me is that the car has good power.

121MPH? I'll belive that when I see it at the track.... don't forget, magazines always do some "correcting", and they sometimes get "ringers".... you won't see stock M6's pulling 121MPH at your local dragstrip.....

i wouldn't go that far as to say E55 should not dare race any M6. in the real world any E55 could take a M6 in a street race. but when triple digits hit, M6 should be pulling away slowly.

The last M6 R&T tested did 118 in the q/m.

With respect to the ringers, the same would hold true for the first 03 E55's tested showing 116 in the q/m

The M6's are reported to be consistently quicker than the M5's...do they weigh that much less or are there other factors?

Is this a joke! Man up!!!

Don't race any M6's. Give me a break. I can't wait to run one. Out of the whole I could porobably beat one on foot. No way No how will an M6 take an E55 in the 1/4 mile. If your car is tuned, faah get about it.. The question is how many car lengths will you beat it by..

Out of the whole the M5 is quicker than the M6. Check out Road & Track, February 2006, page 71. The M6 isn't faster until 0-80 and then it is only by 1/10 of a second. R&T achieved a 12.4 on both cars in the 1/4 mile. The M5 trapped at 115.8mph and the M6 trapped aat 118.1 mph. Both cars had launch control which you can't get in the US.

I will agree these are very powerful cars above 120 mph. But so is mine!!

PS.
I had a deposit on an M6 and bought an E55 instead. Couldn't have been happier. I have gotten run my car up to 145mph and enjoyed it all the way from 0-145. Don't know what I would do if I had to start at 120mph to really appreciate the car. Run it to 200mph?

11-99 Foundation is the California Hghwy Patrol Foundation/Charity that is in place for fallen officers' families who are killed in the line of duty or have passed due to illness where the families need assistance. if one makes a lifetime member contribution you get a license plate frame and a plate/badge inside a leather cover with your name/serial number and date of contrib. it is believed that if you are a nice guy and operating above limits that the CHP's will acknowledge your involvement in the relief fund and maybe/sometimes be a bit more forgiving of your exploits. so it is believed anyway...these plates are on at least a quarter of every exotic here in Marin/SF. believe contirb. is ~$1.5k and you need a reference from current member or CHP as a recommender for you apllication.

Actually Fiske's car ran several 116 to 117 bone stock trap speeds at moroso. My car ran high 114's bone stock with the heavy weight 20 inch Brabus wheels. So in reality 116 is nothing out of the ordinary for our cars.

4 wheels
I eat M5 and M6's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the CLS55 with K4.

Like others have said, the 55K cars will beat the V10 in a street race for sure, but after 100mph its over for us.
