better my drag times
i have a stock 2001 e55 and ran a best time of 12.9 sec @ 178km/h. on street tires.
-please advise me on how to get it to run low 12s.i have seen on dragtimes.com that stock e55 running low 12s.
-which is the best way to launch the car?
-i bought a pair of mickey thompson 275/40/17 e/t street drag radials.
with these tyres help me better my time?
if so what pressure should i run on them on again how should i launch the car.
please help as i am running this weekend and e few e60m5 chipped are coming for me as i cleaned them up in the pass.

2003 E55
I would have thought the stock E55s doing low 12s were w211, not w210 like yours.
I think you're doing pretty good so far - see the recent threads re tyre pressures for DRs.

...........you must be in low altitude cold weather location. Runnig 12.9 with a stock W210 E55 is probably a record. It will be nice to see your timeslips to see your 60ft times.
..........As for difference between W210 and W211, I don't know where to begin. Essentially, the W211 has a supercharger and W210 does not.

Traction was a major problem out of the whole. I turned off the traction control and simply eased into the gas until it started to roll about 5 mph. Once it started to roll, i just put the gas to the floor. Drag radials or slicks if heated properly should make a huge difference as i think the car is probably capable of running 1.70 s 60 ft time which should actually yield a high 11 second or 12 second flat pass. Best part about it was that i probably ran the car 1 times and you're not hurting it!
.............he has a 2001 E55. Your times are not applicable in this case.

I haven't ran the M5 against an E55 sadly, they never want to play
I raced another M5 the other day with the SLK though. Me and the GF in the car vs M5 without plates with 4 old toppies in the M5. He was just walking away from me. I've driven an E55 and from the seat of your pants feel it does feel much faster with the 700nm pushing you.
So we will see
You should bring it on the last weekend of the month, timed runs and a Trackbite prepped track. Also there is usually a good showing of some nice cars, Noble M400's, M3, C32/C55/SLK 55, M5, M Coupe, Porsche's, Ferrari's etc. Should be some good races for you

Got some parts together, waiting for a few more. I decided to get all that i require before i take the car of the road. Going to remove the cats and replace with a freeflow box. I'm quite sure it would make more power with that alone. My m5 previously made 20hp with no cats. When i do the rest i will let you know the results.

Dan - watch out going full freeflow on the K motor - it needs an element of back pressure to keep the boost up. If you go full freeflow - up the kompressor speed to compensate with an oversized pulley. More benefit to be had if you gas flow the heads - would be very handy if you want to go to that hassle ...
I bet you would be down on power with freeflow and no ecu / pulley mod.

It's worth joining the BMW club of Gauteng, even if you don't have a BMW. They host so many events and it's always good having some competition. This weekend was BMW vs Cobra day at Tarlton. Gymkhana leading onto a rolling 1/4 mile. Was great fun.

Also this, should i go full freeflow and put in a bigger pulley, is there a chance that my boost pressure will be lower than that of a car with the same pulley and a stock exhaust.
