How do u guyz clean the rims?

I've had HRE C20s for about 4months now...and it s really hard to take care of.....If i use the wheel cleaner, it would have some sort of spots all over it by the time it dries....So ive been too lazy and been runnin with stocks for about a months....I still have the oil spots(i think its from tire shine or wheel cleaner?) that i need to get rid of....Any solution to get rid of em?
and How do you guyz wash rims? any cool products that u guyz recommend?
By the way, my rims are charcoal finish ...

Thanx guyz~

Find a HAND WASH shop/store and let them do the work for you.

20+ to list......
Clean them myself, as I do the same to the others in my stable. It's actually a good work out in the hot summer days, make myself thinking I actually lose weight after each long car wash. hee hee.

A good coating of Wheel Wax does wonders after a thorough cleaning with soapy water. It helps brake dust come off so much easier. I use Mother's Aluminum polish with the Power Ball on my forged wheels, and then the Wheel Wax.

Soap and Water. If you don't want spots then use Soft Water. If you don't have Soft Water, Target sells a Mr. Clean car wash kit, that has a filter to remove minerals that causes spots. Also you can use bottle water for final rinse only!

By now everyone knows I don't clean much, but my dogs try to give the rims a squirt wash down from time to time.

Do this once to make your life easier.

Un mount wheels, give them a hella good wash and scrub everything off. Wax it (if they are painted) or use the appropiate polish.

Put some kind of protective coating on it (some kind of wax) and then mount them back on.

Afterwards washing brake dust will be so much easier. Just a quick wet wipe.

Here is the best secret of the day, buy one of these and your life will be happier

Its a mini duster, I have one strictly for the rims. Takes about 30 seconds for each rim.

Call a reputable mobile detailer and pay by the month to detail the car weekly. It's worth every cent. Then write it off as business expense. My guy does almost as good as I do and that's amazing.

It's easy! Here is what I do only once or twice a month:

1. Spray Simple Green on wheel let soak for a few seconds.
2. Use a wash glove to wipe down the entire wheel
3. Wash (rinse) and let dry.
4. I spray "Endust" (for fine furniture) on each wheel then wipe off any residue. This really helps with the brake dust.

Is the PowerBall safe to use on a polished lip which has been clearcoated?

OMG, Come on guys, i cant be the only one on here that uses a PRESSURE CLEANER to clean my car?!?!!?

Forget everything posted above!!! Go buy yourself a pressure cleaner, they arent all rediculously large and expensive. You barely even need to touch the wheel after its been blasted, just a quick splash with a soapy sponge to wipe of any residue and really get the lip shining. It gets into nooks and crannies that you'd need a toothpick for! If its REAL grimey, pre apply a rim cleaner, then simply blast it off with 1500psi of water pressure. Bonus is also that these use very little water. Yes you may have to be careful if you have a chipped paint as it can take the paint off, but if you have a new set of wheels its no worries, ive been using them on my cars for years, on every thing from AMG mono's to Buddy club racing rims, multi piece mesh rims etc etc...

it really is as easy as spraying the wheel down. Will take you less than 5 mins to have perfectly gleaming spotless rims!!

BTW i also use this over the entire car, using the fan spray setting. once its sprayed, you can almost chammois the car down without even washing it, especially true if your car is nicely waxed. Eliminate swirls by removing 99% of the dirt before you put a sponge to the car! Yes yes, i love these cleaners, and yes i get excited about cleaning my cars!

Personally i have a Karcher brand similar to the pic above, quite pricey but worth every penny seeing as in 5 years+ my paint will still look brand new. Not to mentioned time saved.

tbone, I am really not sure about using the PowerBall on clear coat. My wheels are plain old forged aluminum. They tend to get a haze/film on them over a very short period of time (oxidizing?). It is very difficult to keep the highly polished look for a long time. They are very labor intensive to keep looking their best. The PowerBall can get kind of messy, but speeds up the polishing process a lot on the flat spoke surfaces and lip. You still need to get in all the tight spaces by hand. The PowerBall itself is not too abrasive (made of foam), actually it's quite soft to the touch. To be totally honest, I only used it a few times. I have a really good detailer that does my wheels for me. He's used the PowerBall, but actually prefers to do it by hand instead. My advice would be to consult a reputable detailer/wheel shop and ask before you take a power tool to your wheels. Hope this helps.
