So if someone is coming, we need them to get on board sooner than later.

If anything, I think our day will get some attention after the fact...

Cool. Just found out about this. We are doing a similar event on the east coast. I have rented out Capitol Raceway in Maryland on the 18th and we have close to 20 cars confirmed. A few E55's (modded and stock), stage 4 kleemann CLS55, a few supra's, Ford GT, a few modded 996TT's, M5, M6, etc etc. You all have fun on the west coast and make sure to take plenty of video's.

Is anyone else driving up on Thursday and getting a room? If so, we should meet up for dinner and beer (maybe Outback or something next to the Ontario Mills mall)?

First off let me say this,I think the track day will be a great day no matter what happens.Having an entire day to the track by ourselves will be a treat no doubt,BUT If the weather is anywhere close to what is has been this last week...well then I wouldnt get any hopes up for some good numbers being ran.It has been nasty hot and bad air lately and even if it clears up slightly it will still not be anywhere near ideal. For the people that havent been to the raceway or better yet the NEW drag strip part of it,the track has no shade or places to cool the cars or yourselves off in.The track itself has an illusina that it runs up hill! For all I know it might....lol,it sure looks like it too me everytime I see it...but I doubt it does. You can only access one side of the track, the other lane is up against a fence, basically one sided viewing of the runs.Unless Dave lets us over to the other side for ideo and photos.Daves a great guy and I have talked to him before a few times on different race events,he's pretty cool about what we are doing and understands that this is more of a fun gathering than an actuall test and tune day from some race team.So lets keep that in mind if we might be deciding on a bigger event in the future.I was out there the week before the Nascar race and thought I would take some pics of the track for everyone too see,but they had taken the grand stands down and parked between 200-300 golf carts on the strip. It becomes storage area when the left tuners come to town,so no pics. There will be a person in the tower for time tickets, person to run the tree and do basic lane prep, rescue team and maybe a floater here or there from the track. They do VHT the lane but not sure how much or how often,I would imagine if we play our cards right we could get it sprayed and prepped really well. All in all it will be a good day, except for the weather.

Yeah, they'll be a few dozen cameras going I bet... seems like everyone is bringing them.

John... good that you're in with Dave... maybe you can get us some special treatment.

Folks, I'm bring my very small RV... basically, it has an awning and is the size of a van. So, don't plan on using it too much... it definitely won't be handling the 40 plus people attending. I think if anyone has any canopy setups, they should consider bringing it...

That and sunscreen... lots of sunscreen...

I wouldnt go that far,but I did talk to him about our rental day.Everything seems good.

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, the temps around Fontana were 111deg.Today wasnt nearly as bad but its still not ideal drag race weather especially for our cars that get heat soaked so badly. The cannopy or EZ up deal is a GREAT idea if you have one to bring.

I'll try to get some pics of the parking lot and actual track tomorrow for everyone.

The pics would be cool... I may borrow two canopies from a friend tomorrow and haul them out there... I'll still be short chairs & tables....

ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN!!!! GOOD GOD MAN! I can see it now:

And the 911TT bests the whole group of cars with a 14.2 at 95!

I managed to get two 12x12 foot canopy setups I'll bring to the track... that'll give some shade... but people, bring your own chairs and coolers!

Awesome Loren!!!! I would offer to bring a lot more but it's kind of hard to do coming down from Vegas.

HEY --- Those who are attending --- does anyone have a pair of stock AMG wheels that you could bring so that I can use. I won't do any burnouts with them (you'll be there to watch ). Otherwise I'll have to run on my 20" HRE's.

I'm more than happy to pay someone a "usage" fee for them??? Anyone?

You mean other than the stock AMG wheels I have the drag radials mounted on just for us?

Yes, so I have something to run on when I'm not running on "test" BFG's. I'm sure there will be a couple folks who will want to try them out... Or perhaps when our K2's go heads up... surely you will not like to give me the advantage ... hehehe

I'm not sure baout Cali but out here we only get to run one lane at track rentals (due to insurance reason). BUT since I've rented out the track a few times, a little bird in the sky told me we get to run a few heads up races at the end of the day .

Boy, that would have been a nice wrinkle to have your SLR cam equipped beast there at track day...

0 - 60 Time?

I am not sure if the track can provide us with a 0 - 60 mph figure or not. It sure would be a great cross check on the 4.3 second time provided by the factory website.

If not, perhaps someone coming to the event can bring, borrow, or beg a radar gun and laptop, or other device capable of logging 0 - 60 mph times.

I'll certainly bring my little GTech unit for fun, but I know they won't have 60mph times....

The GTech-Pro unit is far more accurate than earlier models and is probably your best bet for 0-60, short of full datalogging.

I will bring my G-Tech Pro. It provides 0-60mph times.

I sent him an email. Thanks. Would be nice to have our cars filmed in HD.
