JodyE55,

Try The wheelguys 914 654 1010. Had the same problem but they fixed it quick with no issues.

I live in south central pennsylvania and I don't think there's any quality shop around here. I was hoping there was a place I could ship it to get it done. Are there any members who've had this problem and could recommend a place?

I took my wheel to www.wheeltechniques.com

This is what my wheel looked like before repair:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ght=bent+wheel

They're in California. They've been doing wheel repair for 20 years.

I'm actually going to take my wheel there again because the MB dealer washed my car, even though I told them not to. Their chemicals oxidized my lip.

Good Luck!

wheeltechniques is top notch. i have been goin there for custom polish and painted rims since the late 80s when john first started. they can fix anything and if you want give it a different look that is yours instead of store bought. good luck.

Mark me down as a vote AGAINST Wheel Techniques. I took my HRE 441R there to have one of the lips refinished. When I showed up on the morning the wheel was promised, they hadn't even started (2.5 hour drive up from Fresno, BTW). They told me to come back at noon...still not done, a couple hours later...still not done, end of day...done, but obvious the wheel wasn't even taken apart because I could see oxidation in the groove between the face and the lip. As an added bonus, they broke the 90 degree valve stem so I had to order a new one from HRE. They told me I could bring it back once I got the new valve stem, but I vowed never to return and I'm sticking by my word.

Before deciding to take my wheel to wheel techniques, I asked around and did hear the same story, but also heard that they do awesome work.

Personally, they also promised the wheel to me on a certain date. I called that day, and it "wasn't done". I ended up getting my wheel 3 days late.

I was willing to wait for my wheel as I had heard good things about their work. I just called everyday, and drove down the day they had it done.

I did the same thing, curbed my 10.5" rear Kinesis wheel and went thru the same dilemma as you are, where to send the dang wheel..The more people i talked to the more i got confused but one thing for sure,i didn't want to repair the wheel twice,so i did it once and did it right...I sent the wheel back to Kinesis to have it repaired....was it expensive...yes...but was it perfect when i got it....you bet.
My suggestion would be to send the wheel back to HRE and from personal experience if you want the wheel to have a perfect finish you probably would need to have the outer replaced...it all depends how **** you are....

Ouch, wish you guys live around here. I went straight to HRE to pick up the 840R and they powdercoated the black centers, peeling problem solved. They also re-polished all 4 lips, gave me new logo caps and valve stems at no charge. What an incredible service!

I might have to call HRE... my lips are all scratched up. These polished lips get messed up very easily. The wheels are barely 4 months old.

Just a thought...probably the scratches were from the way you wash/clean them. How do u usually wash/clean ur wheels?

I take it to a hand car wash... never ran through a car wash... I don't even let MB do the curteousy wash. The problem is that I never bothered to check them after they washed it, so I don't know who is at fault.

You are at fault...for not washing it yourself! I bet the wife and kids would be a big help.
