If a 5.5 S/C AMG will work, then the 5.7L will work.. Same block to start with.. just with a set of iron sleeves and some nice forged custom pistons & custom rods..
I am also doing a re-gearing of the S/C ala the SLR as well as a port job to try and increase displacement and RPM.. I dont think the stock S/C in our cars will flow enough air to get to the power levels I want.

Well.. You will most likely have to change your ECU in favour of the 55 ECU because of the S/C clutch and MAP sensor and other electronics.. It would be complicated but it can be done.

VRP Titanium Valve spring retainers
Well I finally Got Them from Victor I already had the heads off , So It only took an hour & 1/2 to install them , It was an easy task and they fit the stock AMG Valve spring Set up.Attached are some pictures of the Titanium valve spring retainers. I swear I must have drop 1/2 lb off Each Head
They are about 8 grams lighter than the stock powder steel metal ones that come from the factory OEM Part number 155-053-01-25
They are a direct replacement , will fit the AMG M-113 motor valve springs ( those springs look like a dual coil setup) , but really are a outer coil spring , with an inter damper spring. Part Number 113-050-00-94. These springs are a straight barrel shape , not the Bee hive type.
I priced competitive size and style Titanium retainer for Chevy & Fords. At JEGS & other online speed parts shops. They work out to be $18.75 a piece . Victors has a cool price on them @ $14.50 a piece , For once we do not have to pay the Mercedes hi end tax!!! Thanks again VICTOR
P/S you guy's please don't laugh at my Home made Valve spring compressor

Good to know they fit the stock springs out of the box. PTE sounds like you will be running a new grind, and I am curious as to the plans you have for the hydraulic elements, if any.

Their is no need to try and fool us, you made that tool for the new cams you are getting that require 250 lbs of seat pressure . Those flimsy snap universal spring compressors are for kids.

VRP STAGE 2 CAMS ARE HERE!!!!!!
We had 2 sets made so we could test them in 2 different cars.. These cams will work in **ALL** 55 engines.. N/A or F/I.
The cams were first installed on an out-of-car engine and all measurements and tolerances were double checked to make sure there were no issues.. They've been here for a while but we've had them checked by 2 independent shops just to be sure everything was ok.
Now that they have passed preliminary "inspection", 1 set is going into my ported heads (bigger valves, titanium retainers, etc). The other set is going into another member's car.. His car will be dyno'd just before install, and then again after install. This will give us a definitive measurement of power increase.
His car already makes some good power, so we're hoping to see a nice increase now that we've got a more aggressive cam profile. I'll post the before & after dynos once the install is complete..
Stay tuned...

hahahahaha... Sometimes I feel like a drug dealer... LOL...
Dont worry Mike.. There will be 1 set put aside for you..
Hey Dan!! How is that beast of yours running? Is it time for another "hit" for yourself?? LOL..
Thanks John! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Shaun, I dont want to spit out numbers just yet.. They were profiled on a computer by the company that made them. The software provides output graphs that show flow/power, but its all simulated.
I'll just wait until the dyno is done and then I'll give you some real world numbers.
hahahaha... I dont see you too far behind me... LOL...
