I just put in a sprintbooster. Easy to do except for the recalcitrant clip, otherwise obvious. It's pretty hilarious, I have to say. Instant response like my 740i sport but brutal. Revs don't seem to climb on the gauge any differently but response is there. It's beyond the question of whose butt dyno is more sensitive than another's I'm sure. I dropped it off my foreign car place for an oil change and he took it around the block with me and he said "it's very responsive". It's a rewarding $250 spent. Rolling burnout with ESP off at 15-20 mph. I'll post again if things change.

Update: I just picked up the car and the tech asked me "what did you do to the throttle" and I told him he just shook his head

Same module works for all drive by wire Mercedes models I think. I want to try this too, but I hope it worth the $250.

If this does work as those say it would be great for street racing from a roll to take away the response lag. Zero hp but probably worth a half car length. Probably worth it if you street race.

I have a much cheaper solution that would be much more fun and challenging. Disconnect the gas pedal altogether and put a toggle switch on the dash...up is full throttle and down is idle, and just flip the switch up and down as you need it. Now, this is what I call interesting...

It was hard for about 15 min until I got used to just feathering the throttle, then no lurching. When the shop guy drove it around the block I had forewarned him and he was very smooth with it. He was checking whether safe to have the carwash people drive into the wash after the oil change. He said that it was fine. It was when he half throttled it that he said, actually, "exceptionally responsive"

But obviously there is a "power on,power off" effect but it can be controlled.

Driving to downtown Atlanta 16.1 mpg.

Pulling around a car at an offramp I gave it a little more throttle. The combination of turning slightly with the extra gas caused the ESP to flash. Noticed the rear wheels squirming quite a bit. Funny thing is while revs increased somewhat, torque seemed to increase substantially, isn't that what causes the squirm ? Maybe the kick is so quick the rev counter doesn't have time to respond. But I didn't hear any insane roar either. Otherwise, just light touches on the throttle seemed to work well with the commute and I left it in D the whole time where normally I'm downshifting periodically.

For $250 I would just train my right foot to move a little faster. That's probably all this device is doing, opening the throttle at a faster rate. At 3/4 throttle, the TB is probably fully open. You have really gained nothing power-wise, but you're probably losing gas milage in around-town driving.

That would be the logical thing. But I'd like someone with one of those 0-60 meters to buy this and check it out. I'd bet $100 it improves 0-60

These things continue to sell because they produce a result that can be felt, and people like yourself sing their praises. But all they do is open the throttle farther/faster with the same amount of foot travel. This makes the car appear to be faster - but it's not. If there weren't so many variables affecting 60-ft performance, i'd take that bet - only let's make it $1000.

People buy this thing because it makes the throttle response quicker.... Well at least thats why i *might* purchase it.... In my C-CLK-and E, throttle response has been terrible. If this makes it more responsive, then its done its job! Thats all......

Nah, if you really want mad power you will want the electric driven supercharging fan installed on your intake.

My c32 really needs it and I will test it on the E55.

I drove the E55 last night alone, and the response is okay.

Only at certain times around 35 to 50mph and crusing, the transmission will kick down 1 gear and puts you before 2.5k rpms.. and you only feel the 5.4L natural torque.. it is during those times you wished it would kick down to the kompressor mode at around 2700 to 3000 rpms.

to acheive the kick down, you really need to press the pedal or manual shift.....

freeway driving I dont have a problem... car responds..

it is only CITY driving and cruising in D mode..

Let me know how the E55 drives as I am interested in this module. I have the Kleeman K1 installed so my throttle response is pretty responsive already.... not sure if it is worth it but its only 250.00 I can always resell it if it doesn't do much...
