Star Diagnostic Lowering????

Star Diagnostic Lowering????
I tried to do a search but couldn't really find what I wanted. With that said I am curious if doing just the star lowering is worth it. I know that there are new lowering modules out but I am going to be dropping my car off at the dealer soon and was going to ask if they will lower it via Star. Pro's or Con's?? Are dealers strict about doing this does anyone know? I will be going to MB of Escondido. Thank you for any advice.

Star Lowering
I just had my car lowered via the Star Diagnostics method and I am definitely happy with the results. Sorry, no pics. The lowering is definitely not as dramatic as is possible with a tuner's lowering module, but I have never been a big fan of the Fast and Furious "Slammed" look for a Benz. That being said, I will be the first to chime in that the factory ride height in the "lowered" position for the E55 was simply too high. My car now has a tight, even gap about the width of my thumb all the way around each tire front and rear. No discernable negative camber issues as I had with H&R springs on my 01 CLK55. Here's the deal: the first tech found the right screen in the star menu no problem and was able to get the car WAY low -- lower than I would ever want --but as soon as he disconnected the car, it shot right back up to factory height. I ended up taking it back a separate day and a different tech was able to get the settings to take. It took a while to get all 4 corners even, but he did it and charged 1.5 hours of labor to do it. $150 bucks and my car looks noticably lower and sleeker than stock. The raise lower function still works fine. For my tastes and purposes, a real bargain compared to a $1500.00 lowering module.

Dealer lowered my car yesterday
I had my car lower at the dealer yesterday, but I can barely tell the difference. I am waiting on a call from my advisor now. We will see what happens

I would be willing to bet any dealership that says they "dont know how" is just saying that because they dont want to do it for legal reasons..... eeverrryyy dealership knows how to go and set it with sds....... so if they say "no" i'd just go somewhere else..
