No Panoramic Roof Avail On W211
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I got a call today from my dealer, I have ordered E55 with Panoramic roof. Bad news, due to "structural integrity issues", the E55 is not available with this option.

Can anyone guess why the E320/E500 has no "structural integrity" problems with the Panarama Roof and the E55 sedan would? That is truly strange.

Frankly I was disappointed with the panoramic roof when I saw and experimented with it. It provides a bit more light in the rear and a wider opening in the front, but it is awfully complicated, probably quite heavy and must compromise structural integrity to some degree. Personally I do not believe it belongs on the E55 and I for one have not ordered it - looks like I saved myself having to change the spec.

I also saw the panorama roof, and am not too disappointed it won't be on the E55. It's nice ... but ... from the driver's vantage point, it didn't make much of a difference from a standard sun/moonroof (I don't know the diff. between the two). And seeing as how I don't plan on riding in the back seat too often, it's all good with me.

If it is a torque/power issue then why is the glass roof available in the SL55? Especially a retractable glass roof which would probably be more prone to problems than the W211 permanent glass roof.

Roof is not a streesed member in SL. It is in E. I ordered Panorama on my E500 for the solar panel feature that runs the vents. I assume this will be great in FL. After seeing some of the negative points here, I hope I didn't make a mistake.
