Awesome man. Just awesome.

What about the times for the Gallardo SE? C6 Z06?

Was that the best time for the FGT of the day?

C6 Z was 12.1

G SE was in the mid 12's, I don't remember the exact time

The FGT was 11.6 at its fastest

Nice. So it seems like both the Z06 and the Gallardo drivers are not up to par on their driving skillls..

I wouldn't say that. The runcraps on the Z are complete garbage and the G is all wheel drive on street tires, neither of which translate to a good launch at the strip (which is key to a low ET)

I ran an 11.5@124.53 in my bone stock Z06 on the stock runflats..

There has also been a few people running mid-low 11's in bone stock Z06's on the Corvette forums on the stock runflats.

As far as the Gallardo, AWD is great for launching. It should be capable of producing 1.8x 60' times if and only if the driver is willing to rag on the clutch (Most Lambo owners don't)

Where do you run? We live in AZ where the DA was 3300ft today.

The Lambo driver made one pass, he rolled out and hit it.

I know a little about drag racing, I've made over 2000 passes and have my NHRA 7.50 license.

I am in MI, 600' above seal level.

The car has 11.3x in it stock on the stock runflats. I have only drag raced my car a handful of times.

Anyway, I am not taking away from your 2000 passes or your NHRA 7.50 license, just stating the facts that AWD is good for launching. Thanks for sharing the vids, and nice collection..

Is that why all the cars that go <8 seconds are AWD?

I had an AWD 996TT that wheel hopped like crazy. Contrary to popular belief, that's not true. If it were, all the funny cars, top fuels, super comp and super gas cars would be AWD. Launching is all about weight transfer and traction.

RWD cars (ones that are set up for racing) will most definitely launch harder than any AWD cars, just like you were implying. It is all about weight transfer. And I agree. But, from my experience and what I have seen from a few friends in their evo's, a stock AWD car is capable of a 1.8x 60' given the driver is willing to get the revs up and rag on the car. One reason, for example, a stock STI is capable of running a 13.0 at the track is becasue of its awd system. Looking at its low trap speeds though shows the greater ET was delieverd through a good 60'.

i was out there today as a spectator and it was impressive to see e55's hotlapping and consistently running mid 12's. jjiii55's e55 ran about 4 back to back runs with no wait time and never missed a beat, even mixing in a 12.33.

Another stellar thread from RennTechV12. Great stuff. Thanks for giving us some serious entertainment. I envy you, the stable is awesome.

Any way you could post a few pics of that Charger? Thats one of my all time favorite muscle cars.

yeah, i would have tried to get every advantage against that chevelle too...in fact i would have left during his burnout!!! the chevelle was securely planted thanks to it's wheelie bars so i don't think his 60ft times weren't suffering at all.

i meant that the 60' beam was gonna pick up his rear tires instead of his front tires. prolly lose .1 on the short time.

BTW, who's supra was that?

Now that is a very good observation! I was a little nervous against the Chevelle, which is odd because I ran against a dragster just before that and had no issues. It was just all the big smoke burn out, blast passed the start line back up the car, have team guide him up to the line, etc. that was a big distraction to me. I knew I had no chance but wanted to give it my best and bam there goes my right foot! Oh well it was a hell of a lot of fun I must admit! Thanks to Chiromikey for taking some very cool photos.
