Remember how most of you doubted the new M5's performance?
This is not a troll thread or any sort of "bashing" towards anyone, but remember how most of you doubted the M5's performance saying it would not be anywhere near as fast as the E55 AMG because of torque or whatever? You have to admit that the result did turn out way different that you expected, agreed? I guess you shouldn't count ANY of your chicks before they hatch.
Even so, the E63 AMG and the M5 are both awesome cars.

I wouldn't.
Fast, but poor interior space and far less comfortable as a daily drive - particularly if you leave it in the faster "modes". In the E you just stomp the load pedal - you're gone!

Where 0 to 120 is what you do, the MB 55 series rules.

my buddy and i are hoping to get to the drags tonight so we'll see how the new m5 does at the track. it's all in fun and i don't care what happens or what anyone says, the new (and the old) m5 are badass cars!!!

On another note, we still don't have video of an E63 vs M5 on the top end. THAT would be really nice to watch.

This guy single handedly ruined BMW for everyone! Common without the cool wheels the M5 looks ugly. If they did something about the goofy shaped headlights I might consider buying one. The side isnt too bad, and the *** is nice.

Honestly, I'd guess any of the E55 owners on the board could have bought M5's, so it's a matter of personal preference.

I think only close minded people hating on m5 or vice versa, two beautifull cars, I loved my E55 and test drove M5 and i love it! I mean they are different kind of beasts.
Why hate?
I wish we could make a day where Mb owners trade cars with M owners! Wouldnt it be awesome.

With all this debate about M5 v.s E55, we are thinking to plot out a highway race (under safe conditions) in the very near future. Both of our cars are stock.

you might change your mind since bmw doesn't allow you to disable dsc with the 6spd. with that in mind, what's the point of offering the 6spd?

i sure hope tuners will be able to defeat not having a dsc button on the new 6spd. but since they haven't even figured out how to defeat u.s. l/c yet so who knows.
