OT - Dealer recommendations in Bay Area?
My bro is looking to pick up an MB and he lives up north. Anyone have a cool dealer about?
Thanks in advance. It is OT, since he is just getting an ML500 but I wanted to ask the E55 crowd.

He knows many people at the Pleasanton MB dealer and bought a couple of cars there. After seeing the service and the dealership, this will be the only place I will go. It'll be good to know the service advisor and the shop foreman that he knows as well.
They have a bunch of AMG cars, SLR, S65, and E63!

I have been very happy with Smythe European in San Jose. Very easy to deal with. I was working with Gorham (German transplant) at one time when we were trying to locate 2 E500's before we got the beast. Unfortunatley he was not able to locate the cars we wanted but still when I go in he is very friendly and very helpful. They have also been very good with service.
Snobby and idiotic. I went there to look for an E55, the jerk calling himself a salesman told me they didn't have it and showed me a CL65 instead.
Great!

It was Claridge's back then and service was excellent.
The best way to get the bottomline is call around and get your lowest number through brokers or big dealers (Glauser-Fletcher Jones) and then call your local dealer and tell them the best deal you have and ask for the same or better.
Having owned many MB's I can attest to the fact that it is in the buyers best interest to buy the car at whichever dealer is going to do the service if possible.
They are more apt to solving your problems right away, they go the extra mile to get you a MB loaner(instead of a rental) and in general take much better care of you when you encounter problems, especially on a brand new car.
