Luxury Motors
How would one go about buying say one of the AMGs without being onsite?
But if you do go to Luxury Motors ->
Luxury Motors pushes a lot of inventory ... a ton of inventory. Chances are good that, by the numbers, more people will have horror stories about them than other dealerships.
Basically, it's a used car and protecting yourself when getting a used car applies to Luxury Motors as any other dealership. Amongst their locations, you have a good chance to find at least one E55 that is in good shape at the low mileage point you are looking at.
I got my CL55 at Luxury Motors because at the time, none of the MB dealerships in the Chicagoland area had the ***** to have a used CL55 Kompressor on their lot (that goes for 55K/65 AMGs in general still). At the end of my CL55 lease and I'm looking for a CL65, will the Chicagoland MB dealers have the ***** to have a used CL65 on their lot? Probably not ...
That is a very good price with that kind of mileage,I just purchased my 03 with 30k and I paid 51k out the door.

Yeah, I got a good deal but I would have paid a little more to be treated properly and to not have had to drive away in my car feeling really like s**t.
My advice - go somewhere else.

this post is what pushed my decision to a no https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....0&postcount=12
I purchased a used 2000 E55 from a private seller in Chicago. But she had bought the car from Luxury and they had her service history. So I had her bring the car to LM to get it checked out before pulling the trigger.
I had a good experience.
1. First of all, I really like it when high-end dealers just leave you on the floor without kissing your *** or looking you up and down and ask you a thousand questions to estimate your worth. I was in the showroom for about 40 minutes, sat in a bunch of bentleys and AMGs and no one bothered me other than offer me a capuccino.
2. I was outside checking out the car I was about to buy after they had done the inspection when a young guy walked up and started chatting me up. He spoke with an accent and introduced himself as the owner. He gave me his card and said to call him if I needed anything. That was a nice touch, the owner was an approachable and cool guy.
Downside:
1. Their inspection sucked. They were either protecting the interests of the seller as she was their customer for a long time or they just did a lousy job. I bought the car and immediately had to deal with $600 in repairs. CD magazine was busted, hood latch was busted and the A/C was low on freeons.
Mechanically though, I think I lucked out on the car, it passed a PA state inspection (among the most rigorous in the country) with flying colors and I had it checked out by my own Benz dealer and he okayed it too.
Overall, my experience with LM was positive, but I never bought anything from them, so your mileage may vary.
Moral, do your homework. Get the VIN, go to your local MB dealer, ask one of the sales reps to look it up in their system, and they'll let you know everything that has been serviced on the car. Next, get a pre-purchase inspection done by the local MB dealer. I did this and had LM drive my car over to BMW for a full inspection. Cost is about $140, but well worth it...especially if you're out of area as I am. Finally, if you really want to be sure you know what you're getting, have them take it to a body shop and get a letter from them that they don't see any paintwork.
There are good cars and bad cars at every used car dealer...our job is to avoid being the sucker.
A week later once I'm back in NH I realize there is a good leak which put about 1/4 of a quart of oil into the skid plate. Once on the lift it is realized that the upper oil pan was damaged from an improperly replaced harmonic balancer recall. They actually cleaned up the oil before selling it so they could dump the car onto someone and get it off their lot. It took a week for the oil to start leaking again and puddle the skid plate. If you call about issues like this you will get promises of repair and a different person on the phone each time. I fought with them and MB to fix the recall properly and had to eat it in the end. With the fix added to the price I still got an ok deal so it wasn't the worst thing that could have happened. Still though, by cleaning up the problem they will pretty much lie to your face.
Oh yeah, the salesmen with the Hugo Boss suits and dark shades are a *******g laugh. Nice suit you monkey retard, go sell another lie. Luxury motors =
I also think the DA was one them at one point......
