Just got Ford GT in pre-owned inventory.

http://www.autobase.com/cgi/info.exe...49&dealer=MBLN

Like E55 it has 5.4L Lysholm supercharged V8.

It is rated at 550HP, and puts down over 500 at the wheels. Stock it is running twin 68 mm TBs. A number of months ago I helped a friend of mine tune one with more boost and even bigger 75 mm TBs. With bigger mufflers, 3 psi more boost and tuning car went to consistent mid-600HP/600TQ at the wheels.

Now, GT has better flowing 4-valve heads, more aggressive cam timing and shares 2.3L of displacement from the blower.

For E55 to get to the similar level it will need 80 mm TB, ported heads with some bigger cams, SLR-style intercoolers and tuning.

Vadim, I am actually serious about it. Can you post any info on it? Is it used (I assume), and why only 500 miles on it? All that stuff. I thought their sticker price was that. Can you verify MBLN's price?

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT !!!

My business partner has one. I love the car. (The only thing that I don't like about it is the doors cut into the roof. It makes it awkward to get in and out of, but I guess that is the way the original GT was built in order to accommodate the driver's helmet). If I had the extra cash, I'd be all over it. And, with limited years of production, I think that the GT will hold its value.

Great looking, fun to drive, fast, mid-engine car -- Love it!!!

DO IT!!!

Can anyone else chime in on the cost on these things? For that kinda of money, I'd rather get a new one, no?

+1
You can get them for less than MSRP.
Just look around a bit. There are brand new, "in plastic" GT's on eBay right now with "buy it nows" of ~$2k below MSRP. There is also a 490-mile, white/blue stripes GT in Texas for $159k.

I'm not trying to block a sale, but IMO, you can do better if you're interested. And at the end of the year...make a cash offer to a hungry dealer and you'll likely save even more.

Awesome cars, and they will undeniably have enormous future value to collectors. I can imagine seeing these cars at Barrett-Jackson bringing big money in years to come.

I agree, at first it is a bit awkward, but this is the only supercar that I am actually, fairly comfortable in.

I am 6'3'', 270 lbs. and there are few cars I fold in OK. Which reminds me of a "torture" a friend of mine played on me. He has an F40, which I helped him tune to over 600RWHP. After that, he asked me to take it for drive.

No matter how much I tried, I could not even get my legs to fit in. I literally spent half-hour trying to get in.

Jangy: If you are serious, let me know - as you know me I will do everything I can to make it happen.

I know you will. Let me get the OK from the wife before we even take it too seriously. She turned the 997turbo down, but I presented this as a Ford GT, which she confuses for a Ford Mustang GT. We never talk price, so she hasn't a clue. Haha!!

1181rwhp, twin-turbo'd Ford GT (a "GT-TT").
Bottom left of the page in the link is a 54mb movie about the car. It made over 1000rwhp...on the stock motor.

Hey, I only recently confessed to the current '06E55 not being the initial '04E500 that she "blessed". Squeezing the '05E55 was a quick one for sure.
