"Never leave home without a MB warranty" With so many 03 and 04's going out of warranty soon, what are the really expensive things that go wrong and what are the costs to fix those things? Must be some horror stories out there of repair debacles.

care to tell us, we need to know.
i too am in the market for either an E55 or S600 but frankly, the more i'm reading the more i get scared of owning one.

There are a number of ECUs that run different systems. If they go sour, it is very difficult to troubleshoot. That can cost big $$. Other than that, you just have your regular MB prices on things.

i could understand your criticism of MB and the electronics and your desire to avoid owning an expensive piece of junk, but then to say that you're going to consider a Z06? i do not know too many people who consider corvettes to be well built, and as for the resale value...you can check the classifieds...

In my opinion, unless you have a lot of "repair talent" (and would obviously have to enjoy this type of thing) you are better off have a warranty on a newer MB.
