Question Repair Cost

"Never leave home without a MB warranty" With so many 03 and 04's going out of warranty soon, what are the really expensive things that go wrong and what are the costs to fix those things? Must be some horror stories out there of repair debacles.

I will try to keep some kind of drivetrain warranty for as long as possible. I'm not as worried about mechanical stuff as I am electrical, which could get really ugly.

There are a number of ECUs that run different systems. If they go sour, it is very difficult to troubleshoot. That can cost big $$. Other than that, you just have your regular MB prices on things.

Don't forget, even your SC is controlled by a "brain" almost all the safety gadgets, etc.

i could understand your criticism of MB and the electronics and your desire to avoid owning an expensive piece of junk, but then to say that you're going to consider a Z06? i do not know too many people who consider corvettes to be well built, and as for the resale value...you can check the classifieds...

In my opinion, unless you have a lot of "repair talent" (and would obviously have to enjoy this type of thing) you are better off have a warranty on a newer MB.
