Airmatic strut replace.. crazy easy
so I go t my strut in.. I have to say. Ive done nuts to bolts DIY stuff for 15 years. This has to be..... by far..aside from a brake job... the easiest project ever on any car period. A handful of nuts on a wheel welL,,, and 4 totel on the strut plus 3 plug and play connections... all told start to finish in the driving rain BTW.. not even an hour. stupid easy.

HA! What did I predict? It took you longer to replace your faulty keyboard, that it did to fix the strut.

I did not need to do this. I attached the strut to the top first witht he 3 nuts s... I then used a jack to slightly compress the strut while i applied downward pressure on the rotor with my chest.. WALA ! i then loosened the top mounts again while using ther jack under the rotor to align the bottom bolt.

this was just one side.. the passenger side.. the most time consuming part is removing and installing the wheel well liner.. the strut itself literally comes out and goes back in in 20 minutes or less. if it wasnt a monsoon of rain.. it would have been even faster

Is there any calibration that needs to be done when replacing the airmatic struts? My front ones are sagging and plan to replace them with new Arnott units this month.

To collapse mine, I lifted the affected corner with a floor jack and then opened and closed the drivers door with the key in my pocket. Did this a few times and each time the car would bleed that strut to try and level out the car. After about three rounds, the strut came right out. Mine was leaking, not completely failed.
