Sorry if this is the wrong forum to be posting this but I was wondering what the going rate for a 2004 E55 is
I found one 2004 black/black, factory chrome rims with panoramic sunroof (no other major options), 28,000 miles for $53,800...is that fair/good/above average/steal?
Also, assuming I purchase this car, what is the selling price for 4 E55 factory wheels (chrome) with relatively new tires....id be looking to sell them to get aftermarket wheels.
Thanks for the help guys

What kind of warranty does the car have left; is the dealer a Mercedes dealer and is he offering a "Certified Pre-owned Warranty for MB?Originally Posted by dragonAMG

its got the 4yr/50k mile warranty on it..not from a MB dealer.
I was thinking of keeping the wheels/tires as well..but I was looking to budget only 2k on wheels. I was hoping the stock wheels/tires would fetch around 2-3k since they are chrome AMGs...i really have no idea though since i cant estimate the demand on these.
Anyone able to gimme some insight on the wheel/tire issue?
Thanks so much

there is no such thing as a "factory" chrome rim from Mercedes. all chroming is done by greedy dealers who send the rims out to be chromed locally and proceed to bury the buyer with headspinning markups. Frankly, the way most MB wheels are finished, chroming is usually a step down in aesthetic appeal.
Since at least as early as those color-matched hubcaps of the 60's and 70's, MB has always ruled for nicely done factory wheel treatments. Many of the aftermarketeers here will argue that they've done better, and maybe they're right (aside from the Lorinser turbine, I'm not convinced), but there's not much to get excited about in terms of stock wheels on other brands that get close to MB's executions.
Paint the wheels black like the car, with no chrome/silver lip. You will be feared!

It sounds like a very good deal, lower than most '04 that I've seen. In fact, you probably have room to negotiate if that's the asking price and that would make it a VERY good deal indeed! Sucks for me knowing that they are selling that cheap since I will probably have to sell mine shortly.

You only lose money when you sell... that's why I don't plan on selling mine. Good luck on the car... like medici said, very good deal

not sure where you're located, but there is a 2003 silver e55 amg with 35,000 miles on it at south bay mercedes, in so. cal., for a bit under $48,000.00 << now that sounds like a deal to me...

Again, that is a good price, but the fact that the car is not sold on MB dealer and is not a CPO car .. that is the right price.
Also, please check for accident and paint work, a CPO car would not have any paint work done.
And i don;t think you want a E55 that has been in an accident. Knowing the speed of the car ... can;t imagine the damage....
