Did I get a good deal?
Hello, I have been reading posts here for awhile, you guys have provide great information and entertainment. I finally decided to take to plunge and get 03 E55. I was wondering if I got a good deal or not. I know its too late, but it will give me peace of mind. I enjoy the car a lot, but was wondering if I should have held out longer. I paid $50,600 out the door with 34000 miles, keyless go, lighting package, pano roof, sales man said it had every option except nav. Remaining factory warranty and service until 07/07, plus extended warranty until 07/08. I used to drive 01 CLK55. Thanks for your input.

I would not say you got a great deal but with the extended warranty to 2008 and the low mileage it seems fair. I would say a very good deal would of been about 45K but if the car is in really good condition and you bought it from a Mercedes dealer it was probably worth paying what you did. We have a mercedes dealer in my are of Northern VA and the prices are not that great but the cars are in perfect shape and all certified used cars.

If out the door price was $50600 that should include taxes, registration and extended warranty. If that's the case, the vehicle price had to have been in the mid-high 40s, in which case you got a hell of a deal!!

Secondly, I would be very weary about what the sales guy says about warrenty. Just by doing my math, the only way you would have that much warrenty left is if the car was put into service on 07/03. Since the car is an 03, i found it very rare to find that a car put into service so late in the year. Ask your sales guy when was the car put into service. Also keep in mind that the extended warrenty kicks in as soon as your factory warrenty ends. So if you hit 50k miles before the 4 years of service is up, then the extended warrenty kicks in. So it could extend to 08 but most likely not if you drive alot... I hope I didn't confuse you...

Thanks for input, I got this at a MB dealer, it was CPO, so the remaining warranty is until 07/07 as it was put into service in 07/03. So warranty and service until 07/07 or 50,000 miles, plus CPO from Mercedes for an additional year up to 100,00 miles. I was reading all the fun you guys had with this car, now I know what you guys were taking about. Thanks again.

Getting it from a dealer and assuming it is in clean shape with CPO, you did just fine. Enjoy it. A few $$ here and there is irrelevent. The point is to love the ride. Welcome aboard and post some pics!!

Yes, I agree with all of you. This is a great car to drive, and I am enjoying every minute of it. Although I do miss my CLK55, as it was my first AMG. Hopefully I can get pictures up this weekend.
