Finally!!! Eisenmann Exhaust Arrived.

my eisenmann race has arrived. (THANKS NEAL!!!)

took almost 3 months, but hopefully worth the wait. I hope to have them installed tomorrow if the shop can make time for me

How much and can't wait to hear your reactions? I personally love the AMG look, so sound would be my only reason to switch. I assume there is no power gains to be had with just a muffler. Let us know what your opinion is.

looks identical to the AMG tips, but says eisenmann instead of AMG. I prefer the AMG as well though. Got it from Neal at Euroteck.

no power gains I assume also, but I felt the stock E55 was way too quiet. My sisters silver/blue girly colored SLK55 is louder than the E, and I wasnt going to have any of that.

We all know what happened with mine- I got mine a year ago and had the resonators and post cats removed as well and the sound ... was outrageous in a good way (do a search for the clips) but I probably lost 15-20hp due back pressure reduction. I have since reinstalled the resonators and the power is back again.

Enjoy!!!!!!

If your post cats are on, I would recommend dumping them- also headers should help with more sound if thats what you are looking for.

actually, this is also all your fault. Once I heard your clips, I had to have the exhaust. Although I dont think Im going to mess with the cats or resonator at the moment. The car is a lease, and Im still waiting to see what happens with the AMG cars the next few years. If the 63 is the only thing available at the end of my lease, Im buying the 55.

So I think cutting the post cars would be a little too invasive for a lease. Who knows, maybe I might just so that it sounds like those clips you made.

I've heard VIC55's in person, and trust me, most of that sound is from all the extra removal. If all you are worried about is lease return, keep them to have them reinstalled. The car doesn't go through too massive of an inspection upon return. Or do what I usually do and trade it in before the lease is up, and let the dealership deal with it.

thats good to know

maybe if I dont like the sound, I'll have JP Performance cut the others off too, and save them for welding at lease end. Save me another trip up there

Yes most of the sound is from the extra removal and putting back the resonators still gives me pretty much all the sound (90%) but I got back the power that I lost.

Oh my car is a lease too but I am with Chase and being in the business I know that Chase negotiates residuals at the end of lease based on auction values. I am going to steal this thing.

I am with US Bank, I hope they'll negotiate also. If they do, I'll definitely keep it.

Im seriously leaning to have the post cats cut too now.....

I had an M5 with US Bank and they are pretty conservative but that was in 2002, as for the post cats, thats a good call to dump them.

Nice! Can't wait till you have it installed to hear your impressions.

Btw, you bought it at a perfect time, Eisenhaus just raised the price a few hundred bucks on it.

Thanks again!

that sucks that they didnt fit after all that waiting.

The width of the tips on the E is a little under 10", and the eisenmann spacing is exactly the same. Install is set for tomorrow morning, I wont be able to sleep tonite!

Ahhhhhhhhh, I remember the day when mine showed up. I stayed an extra 2 hours at work to install them. Then I fired up the machine and heard that sweet sweet sound. It made it all worth it. But now I want to go louder.....

Question for Vic55, how come you loose power with the resonator removal? I gathered from reading other threads that they simply soaked up a bit of drone, and didnt do anything for backpressure?

Also, you remove the rear cats not the primary ones?

cheers!

I lost power because there was barely any back pressure with my aftermarket headers, post cat removal, resonator removal and the Eisenmann exhaust. Putting back the resonators created just enough back pressure to get me back that power. Resonators although limited in restriction do create a minimal amount of back pressure which I needed. It probably was unique to my car because of the other exhaust mods done (headers, cats).

Yes I removed the post cats, If I pulled the pre cats I would get a CEL unless you go with Kleemann which bypasses that warning. Pulling the precats would make my car too loud IMO.

wow, this thing sounds AWESOME

E55's should come from the factory like this.

A little disappointed on fitment though, but hopefully I can get that resolved without heating and bending the muffler

It took Evosport a little while to get my fitment done but it looks perfect. What happened with yours?

passenger side is hanging lower than the other, and the tips are also not straight. Outer pipe is lower then the inner. The edge of the muffler is also almost touching the lower apron.

It was really bad at first, but the shop got it as close as possible. Its still enough where I notice it though. Im just a bit disappointed because of the high cost of it. I think that muffler wasnt put together properly cause its just off everywhere.

I think Evo had to make some extra cuts to get mine aligned. It was there for a whole day. I cant notice mine at all --- ill take some pics if you like. Maybe you can get yours adjusted at Evo???

thanks for the offer. I'll probably take it back in next week. The shop I go to used to do a lot of the R&D exhaust work for Evo. I think they're the ones that did the C32 headers for Vadim. Anyway, I think he said heating it will allow us to move it where ever we want. Or he was thinking of breaking off the welds in the backside, and rewelding it so it fits correctly.
