what's different? Did the factory do a pulley upgrade? Or something else? Anyone know?

07 SL55? I thought they all got replaced by the 63 engine? If not, i am sure the exhaust, airbox, ECU got tuned up to get those gains...

SL65 AMG
The sl's stayed as 55's and I think but may be wrong that all they did was go back to the 80mm TB. I think they used the 80mm in 03 as well.

Mercedes Benz
They use a bigger throttle body and they changed the internal gearing on the kompressor to make it spin more quickly. So it has a conservative pulley upgrade so to say and a throttle body. I think 510 is very conservative on that car since those parts should yield a whole lot more power.

Just more fuel to the 55 vs. 63 fire.

E55
Does this mean that 80mm TB are in a good supply and we can get them for the mods if needed by using the SL55 part numbers?

Isn't the IC also larger in the SL

classes

the premium classes are staying 55 for now (SL, S, CL) but I'm sure they will have a class restructure soon - I know one strong fact is because the 63 and 600 bit would be confusing, seeing as how the 600 would still be a superior class, they will probably make it like a 650 or some **** and move the 65, who knows... Also, the 6.3 engine they made is capable of 610hp, so they can put it in the premiums and so on, at what HP I donno, probably not the full 610. They had to move the SL and others up a bit to keep the 63's off there ***.

[Educated opinion]

... where did you get that S65 RENNtech picture, thats badass, I'd like to see that car go.

The 63's in all their flagships will be released here in UK during spring ... after 2007 the 55's will be no more ...

At least thats the time line update I got from AMG in the post the other day...

SL65 AMG
All the cars have the 63 engine except the sl and the c55. The c55 is not even being offerd at this point and the sl is a 2007 as an sl55. I hear people
are getting orders in on the new s63 and the cl63 as well. They may be holding the 63 motor on the sl until they change the car in 08 or 09 I am not sure what mb run cycles are.

610 huh? wow! Where did you hear that?

Your data in not all correct. As stated, the S63 and CL63 will be out this year as 2008's...... Sounds like the 5.5 stays in the SL, SLK and G for 2007.
