2006 E55
Unhappy I have to part with my 2006 E55 Sedan

Wife volunteered me for carpool duty so I need a bigger car. Either a GL450 or an E55 Wagon. If anyone has any interest in assuming a lease on a beautiful Flint Gray 06 E55 Sedan, here is the link in the classifieds:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...45#post1929445

Hope I can convince the wife on the E55 wagon and stick around this place!

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order

That is soooo not a good excuse man. You can carpool with and E55 no problem, It's a family sedan with a caged monster under the hood. And obvioulsy she hasn't seen the back of your hand in a while. lol. j/k there's nothing funny about spousal abuse. lol. yeah there is. lol. no there isn't. lol.

Sorry, but that is one sorry-*** excuse. You buy something costing upwards of 90K and your wife decides you need to schlep around some kids, so you gotta get rid of the car, and deal with excising yourself out of a lease?!

How many kids do you need to carry? If it's more than 4 you don't need anything else. If it is more than 4, well, your not a bus driver. here's what I would say: NO

Get another car to take care of your new orders (sorry). It will likely be cheaper to lease a mini van than the beating your going to take on getting out of that lease you have (seemed very high).

Or, like someone else said, "just say NO."

Thanks for the input guys. Why did it not surprise me that Jangy was the first to ask for the wheels? I am not ready to part with them quite yet.

Wife is not being lazy. Just a logistics issue. Can't be at two different schools at the same time. For those with little kids, you probably understand. I need room for 5. Plus the kids are too little to sit in the front seat yet so I definitely need a third row. We'll see how it goes with the lease assumption. If someone grabs it, I will probably track down an E55 wagon. If not, I might just have to keep it and pick up a slightly used GL450 or the new X5 for those particular days. I'll keep you guys posted.

E55 AMG + Mustang GT
If you can afford to keep the E55 and buy a GL or X5, then there's no need to get rid of the E55.

Do what i did and buy a minivan, then wait a few months and slip it to the Wifey. No way am I getting rid of my ride for my kids, nor allowing them in it on a regular basis. My kids are nasty. They spill food and crap everywhere. It would be a shame to treat an ML63 to that.

Women shouldn't be allowed to drive SUV's that big with that much power.

A Hyundai Sante Fe with a little 4-banger is more than sufficient for the ladies.

I just had a week driving a Cayenne S which had 24k miles on it. TOTAL POS.

The car had 9 things go wrong and is totally falling apart. I will think twice before looking at any Porsche car now that I had the pleasure of driving the Cayenne. The service adviser who has seen the car a whole lot lately says they are pretty bad quality wise.

The interior is literally falling off. The gas flap broke, the tailgate trim fell off -- jamming the rear hatch so it wont open or close, center storage bin will not open, glove box is broken, drivers door trim is very worn and squeaks, remote key and alam is broken (randomly has the alarm go off), drivers door regulator is clunking, the car shakes when you turn it on in cold weather for at least 20 seconds..... Shall I keep going?

Honestly an R-Class is a great car. Call me nuts as I know it is ugly from most angles but with Airmatic and some power it actually is a fun car to drive. I have not driven a 63 but I bet its a riot to mess with people is a combo minivan/suv thing. We have a R350 wiht all options and honestly its a great car. It is sportier than an ML by a long shot!

A friend had a Cayenne and had only bad things to say about it...completely topheavy and not very quick.

But to the minivan problem-- I'd suspect an R63 could be had for quite a discount given the lack of success of the R class generally (assuming the focus is keep the E, and pick up an entertaining, 'inexpensive' freight vehicle)

U know what? There are alot of holes in the desert....and there are alot of problems buried in those holes. The key is to have the hole dug before U show up with the package. Otherwise, U could be digging holes all day!

Oh man. Where are your cajones? You're getting rid of a car like that just cuz your wife volunteered you for carpool duty? C'mon. Keep the car and lease a Honda Pilot or Odyssey--approx. $299/mo for the Pilot. Talk about wifey having you by the *****.
