FEELER... Maybe time to sell

Well, thinking about selling my 04 E55 with or without the Brabus wheels... but what do you think I can get for it.. it's got about 33k on it, but in perfect shape... I think I'm going to need a bigger SUV for a short time until either marriage works out, or it doesn't....

If you are selling it without the wheels and you haven't done any other mods it should be pretty easy to pick a starting point. Look up KBB value and see where your car falls with the options and mileage you have. My guess on your car will be low 60's high 50's. I just looked up my 04's private party value and it was just under 63k.

Sorry to disagree. I think you are easily off by about 10k. After trying to sell my 05 for a good 6 months I'm speaking from first hand experience. Mods are virtually worthless on resale. Condition is expected to be mint. Book values listed are fabrications. But, then again feel free to sell higher and prove me wrong. I hope for your sake I am wrong.

I have to agree w/ Glenn.

One person (cannot say where I find it - as I may buy it - but trust me, I don't lie)... newer, as loaded (if not more), a lot lower miles but w/ OEM wheels... asking price is $59K.

I would guess you could only get low to mid 50's for your car. I know that Glenn sold his car for <$60K... not sure about the options.

I'm hoping I would be able to get '06 loaded at around $60K in couple months.

EDIT:
Not mean to try to be offensive... but if you have a buyer who knows... '05+ E55 has improved steering rack.... I tried it and felt the difference. That's why I am not that interested in '04 ('03 hell no... no more nightmare for me )... of course unless I can find '04 < $50K, which I won't of course

Next Question

Well, I was thinking about $55k or so... it is mint... I'm just in need of a larger SUV for a short time and then I'll buy one of these things again! I have never been happier, and since this car is the 04 with maintance included, and a certified car for 7 yr or 100k... I really hate to think to live without it... now next question, what should I get? I need seating for six at least!

Take a look at ebay. I would think your car will sell for closer to 50K than 55K and over.

To piggybank on Zoink's point, if you have a buyer who knows from watching these bricks sink in value over the past few months, they'll know that picking up an '07 e63 with all the substantial non-engine improvements over the e55's ought to be possible next year for somewhere around $30k off sticker, so be prepared to be bent over.

I just sold the 2005 e55 wagon. It was an eye-opener. Unless your car is absolutely mintier than hell with under 15k miles on it, I wouldn't expect to get more than about $55k, and realistically expect less. That's the way the AMG ball bounces these days.

Then again, over at CadillacForums.com, there's a dealer selling off new 2006 XLR-V supercharged $100k coupes for $58k, including delivery to anywhere in the US!!! That should demolish any prospect of the XLR-V having a secondhand market value retention, so perhaps we ought to consider ourselves lucky by comparison?

Far as it goes, I'd love to pick up an XLR-V for $58k new...

Good luck with the sale. For suv have you taken a look at the Infiniti QX56 - great kid/grocery getter but has as nice as an interior as caddy/rovers.
I agree and hope that you can get 55K for it and sell the wheels sep as whoever buys more than likely won't know what he/she is getting unless they are a car nut.

Thanks...

Okay, well I checked out some domestic SUV's today but I had my two little ones with me and didn't feel like taking out car seats and such, but I think I like the H2's... kind of a cool factor, maybe not like my Brabus AMG, but it's still kind of cool!

Jerry,
Sorry to see you go. I wouldn't personally sink the money into an R class.

The H2 is alright, but keep in mind it really is big.

Good luck with all of it.

brother, I'm not gone yet! and I may not be gone... just checking out options. I mean to sell/trade my toy car and pickup a larger SUV and walk away with some cash in my hand is what I need to do now, but I doens't mean that's what's going to happen! I'm just feeling things right now, and will have to see, afterall I havn't done that Palomar cruise yet!
