Brakes- Who makes the Best Upgrades

Has anyone done any brake upgrades (rotors, calipers, pads, lines, etc)?
Who makes the best upgrades for the E55?
Thinking about upgrading the entire system.
Any thoughts?

Are the Evosport Rotors the same as Brembro?

No,

Evosport is a light weight floating rotor that is a direct replacement for the stock rotor only.

No doubt, Brembo has the best brake upgrades for the E55.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you spent on your recent upgrades? Thinking of upgrading my brakes but it'll cost almost as much as a Stage 6 Renntech upgrade.

I see that you have the Evosport rotors. Question, other than reducing weight, what is the advantage of these brakes over Brembros or other aftermarket companies.

Brembo makes a replacement rotor and hat that fits the W211 E55? You sure? I've seen the kits that include calipers but didn't find anything for use with the OEM calipers.

Any review on the toe links and quaife? How about some pics, too? Your car should be pimping about now?

Where'd you get the LSD installed? I assumed EuroElites.

Nah, I'm almost positive that Brembo has no direct rotors for the E55. That is what makes the EVOSport ones so attractive, other than custom one offs (like mine).

adams tech didnt want to mess with the LSD! the lsd works i put 30 feet of 2 black marks down my street. toe links dont know if im supposed to feel anything there i thought they were to keep me straight and reinforce the rear end. ill put up pictures after my brakes. all the employes at the dealer ship loved it. they realy tripped off the exhaust tone.

Yeah, finding a place to drop in an LSD can be tough. Tranny shops will do it, but then there is the trust issue.
I don't think you are supposed to feel the toe links, unless you were having any wiggling issues before. I just wonder if they are rugged enough or if I should get the VRP ones.

How did the ECU part go? I'm still holding off untill i either need the speed limiter removed or the A/F goes lean. Right now, I'm still pig rich, so i will try some more intake and see.

i dont know if it was vrp or someone else that posted pics but who ever it was it looked just like the renn ones i have. the ECU worked almost to the exact numbers adam said i would get. he even said the ECU will adapt and get more HP. but im happy right now with 528hp. i have to learn throttle control all over again. i went with the renn TB cuzz of warranty but i realy like this upgrade the best its cheep HP i would recomend this to everyone.

The Renn TB is also an 80mm, so I think you are fine there. The pic posted was of the VRP one. Do you have a final dyno posted? I'd like to see your curves and A/F ratios. It is definitely much better to do the ECU after the hardware, so you should like it. what do they call your setup? What stage, if any?

I also have a VRP Airbox coming, so i will eventually have all the intake open.
Good luck learning the throttle. It is basically on or off and we just hang on.

It would be equal to a stage 5 minus the cf airbox.

Very nice. Squeezing the last few hp out of that thing will be hard work.

I cannot give you much good information about the Brembo's on the E55 but I have had the EVO rotors for almost a year and have been very happy.

Here is a good thread with the pros and cons regarding the EVO's: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/148028-evosport-rotors-1500-00-who.html

Good luck

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, GLE 400d, R107 280SL, Golf Polo
The Brembo GT kit comes with 380mm disc with new 8 piston calipers. You need 19" rim for it to fit though ... aparently Brembo recently released a 360mm disc - which should fit OEM caliper (which is a Brembo unit btw) but I am not sure and could not find anything on their website about the 360mm disc.

Stock front disc is 360mm.

The GT kit is only for the fronts.... I would only do this if I was going to track the car ...
