Sluggish/slow shifts on E63
I find that the transmission shifts up and down slower than I'd like. In particular, in manual mode, it seems to take forever for it to accept my downshift requests. It' not 4-3-2-1 as I would like, but more like 4- wait wait - 3 - wait wait - 2 etc. It "seems" to be a bit better using the gear shift than the paddles, although I'm sure that is mostly in my imagination as I can't imagine any reason why that should be. I seem to recall that my 03 E55 took commands and reacted more positively. ie. when I asked it to shift, it shifted.
Any of you notice the same thing? Any newer build dates that seem different? ie. maybe Mercedes quietly improved the software.

I believe there is a reflash of the tranny , Is your car starting in 1 from a stop and upshifting properly? Sounds like you need to get the new sofware for the 63.
PS. Never really use manual tranny. Sport and comfort suit me just fine

I have the 1000-3000 mile "Welcome" service coming up and I'm going to try and get that addressed as well as the "ticking time bomb" sound when the car is cold.

No problems at all with the transmission, Shifts are firm not harsh. Down shifts are smooth except first gear sometimes is a little harsh. The paddle shifting is quick and manual down shifts are good as long as your at the right rpm's if not there is a delay. I believe the delay maybe a saftey feature of the transmission to save its self. I also keep my car in sport mode most of the time.
