Hey Rafal,
The mold & costs associated were budgeted based on being able to have 1 product that would work in all the cars.
In order to do this specifically for the E55, I need to have a new mold created just to handle that 1 car. Of course, I want to do it so I can have paddles in my own car, but I need to find an economical way to accomplish this.
My number one problem now is that I cant buy a set of buttons to send the factory because they are not available separately and I dont really want to spend $800 to get a complete wheel.
Does anyone know of a scrap E55 @ a junkyard that the buttons can be taken from?? If i can get a set of buttons I can get the process moving along.
Majit... LOL.. Technicolour huh??? Interesting.. Maybe that will be your christmas surprise this year...

I have the SLK paddles available but they are in Piano Black just like the pictures.
Thanks bud!! I really appreciate the offer.. I am going to ask the factory exactly what will happen to those buttons.. If they assure me they wont be damaged, I'd love to take you up on that offer... Free paddles for you!

I don't know how the paddle offered by vrus is cost efficient. I found oem AMG steering wheels with paddle in eBay. Their prices are quite reasonable.

030 Steering wheel with paddle:

Do you want CLK63 AMG Black Series Steering Wheel?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Mercedes-CLK-63-...QQcmdZViewItem
It's around $700.....
How much is the paddles from vrus?

06 E55, 03FORD P/S,01 E320-4M,99 ML320,O4 E55,05 RUBICON UNLIMITED,
hey guys, check this out. i have an 06 e55 and wanted paddles. so what to do? even at cost for a e63 wheel, airbag and paddles would be $2500+, so i bought a set of the 171 (part #) aluminum paddles and started checking things out. the paddles won't fit in the wheel correctly due to diff. sizes as we all know. i didn't really care about going back to stock shift buttons so i used a razor blade and carefully cut the material away from the back side of the steering wheel and removed the extra material. then i drilled a small pilot hole to screw the paddles to the wheel mounted from the airbag side. now the wheel reads + and - and the paddles read up and down. i cut and switched the wiring from the stock button to the paddles, pay attn. to the correct wiring conncetor side, and there you go, works great, this takes a commitment to modify your stock wheel, but if you want the most inexpensive way to get paddles here it is. this mod is not for all people but if you can remove the wheel and can do basic work on cars then you should have no problem doing this yourself. i know this won't work on sl's due to the shift button hole being bigger, but that could also be modifed.again after this is done your stock shift buttons will not go back into your wheel, cheers.

Why do you say that? Do you know something I don't ?
The paddles for all the cars I listed (other than E55) are in production already.. I am waiting for a delivery and timeline from the manufacturer.
For the E55, once we discovered that the paddles were different than the rest, we had to wait until these other ones were first done before we could move forward on the E class versions.
