Sac Drag Results
What a blast! It was great meeting all the various members that attended.
JUICE you are crazy for driving up that far ...
Well it was a decent showing at least :
Ben 997TT
Scott SL65
Tom E63
Juice CLS63
Dan SLK55
Po E55
Michael E55
Me SLK55
Rob M5
Scott mentioned that the track prep wasn't that great ... since this was my first time ... I can only say I can't get traction.
My best time was throwing the car in comfort mode and starting in 2nd gear. Even then I had to feather the throttle very carefully otherwise I still just lit up the tires.
Rocket after hearing your exhaust ... thats the next mod I'm getting. The sound was addicting!
Was great fun guys ... let's do it again soon.

My runs were consistent 11.5s @ 123 with one 11.4 @ 124. I'm looking forward to going back in two weeks for the 6/16 Grudgefest and running race gas and some faster passes

you should of stoped by i wanted to check out your car. i was on the fence the other day about getting one.
for me first time ever at a drag strip i was scared to death and really not thinking well anyways.
i pulled in to the water box area and backed in to the water, and when i went to do a burn out i had left it in reverse. i didnt take off or anything but still the funnest thing.
anyways scott didnt tell me the track sucked i thought drag radials were just way over rated. i can take off decent with no traction controll on using street tires on the street. but at the strip with DRs i was sideways for at least 1/4 of the track. even with the traction contoll on i still couldnt launch.
im sure alot had to do with nerves and just pushing the peddal to hard but oh well.11.7 was my best time and im sure if i knew how to take off better it would be faster.
i also need something for around the 90-120 mph range it seems like the car just falls down.
i have renn stage1, TB and long tube headders. will cams help the 90-120 areas?

I think one of the wierd things that we learned is how the 6.3's also get pretty heat soaked.
Btw what was the best time of the M5? Did it even break into the 12s? (Heh heh Sorry Rob had to bring it up
)

For some drag radials will put too much confidenence in them.Specially for first time users. Also,if not properly used they will not be as effective as they can be off the launch.
I see you made it through with out any problems, such as the going to fast deal we were talking about in the other thread.Thats good to hear. Its not fun being asked to leave the track due to running too fast, its happened to me more than once in the past.I just bite my lip and leave nicely.
Can you really feel the car lay down about 3/4 track or do you thinks its just your mind palying tricks on you at the track? If its laying down its very possible the timing is being pulled to due to intake temps climbing to high.It is possible, odd but possible.I thought you had a the cooling mods done already? You will need to get some OBDII software and get a data log of your run to see whats actually going on.That will be the tell all tale right there.
He took me on the line by about 3 car lengths but at that point on I kept the same distance, near the end I was gaining a little. So I think Rocket's comments of losing some steam at the end are valid.
We are all waiting on Adam to wake up and go scan the timeslips.

last time i was at adams he said my car was runnin super rich. he would of fixed it but his computer was down and i couldnt wait for him to send the ECU in. im also havin a problem with my LSD after install tony said i lost 20 hp and it was leaking fluid so im gonna take it in for the LSD to be fixed then back to adam for a new ECU flash, brembos and HRE C20s. my rear rim and tire weight 60lbs
i would also like any input on the DRs i tred to do a standig burn out but my car would just shut down after a second or 2. i need to figure out how to properly warm them.
He then proceeded to escort me home at 50 mph (The whole Fu&%ing way)
Thanks again Po!
Heh also another shout out for EuroElites for great support ... they are hand delivering my rear Carllson 19s to my house so I can switch out the back rims until I get new tires on them.
ill learn sooner or later.
juice it was very nice meeting you and i want to thank you for your pointers. thanks to you i smashed that vett by about 15-20 car lengths. NOTE: leave on the second yellow .060 reaction time

Get the ECU redone from Adam and get yourself a data logger, its easy to use and cheap compared to anything you have ever bought for your E55.
