Why is there even a debate ?! Guys i'm very happy with my SL55..nice ride,good looking and power.I did race a B6 convertible from a traffic light, that thing is faster (full stop). Even when comparing M cars to AMG's..they are both fast cars but there is a big difference, M cars are for pure sport enthusiats and AMG's are for people who simply dont have the knowlege in sport driving and racing but also want to feel fast ! I do own a ferrari F430 manaual as well as a Subaru STI modded, they give me the feeling of sportiness NOT the AMG. Regarding the video, i'm usually spanked with my SL and am used to it and happy with it..

Well somehow a Kellener's M6 beat a Supercharged Viper?? Unless the viper wasn't working properly that day, I can't see a Kellener's M6 beating a Supercharged Viper at ANY speed even with the top down!!
Anyone else agrees with me?? Or am I missing something here?? :S

I'm new here but just thought I would pitch in as I am intrigued by this discussion. I am not bias towards BMW(although I do own one, wouldn't it be ok to give credit where credit is due. Although I have not been on this board for long at all, In fact I think this is my first post, The events sponsored by Gustav seem to be rather fair and fun races. I have seen all of them on youtube from the previous meeting they had.

Also although they are starting from a roll if google isn't lying to me 50 km/h is about 30...miles per hour. This is barely over the school zone speed limit. As much can be said in regards to gearing, the cars are what they are. Perhaps if an E63 were compared to the B5 there would be less complaining.

I don't mean to start off on the wrong foot here with the board, as I have recently become obsessed with the E class(E 550 recently came into the family), I figure enthusiasts would be happy to see another tuner car do well.

Perhaps that's just wierd but talking about what would have happened if it were from a dig, etc etc...sound like language typical of AWD car drivers(WRX, S4 etc.) when they lose from a roll on the freeway etc. The "Oh yeah, well from a launch I'd rock you" mentality seems like something AMG drivers should be above.

Cliff notes:
-Give Credit Where Credit is due.
-Enjoy your AMG for what it is.
-Races are in a controlled environment from about 30 mph(50 km/hr) a very real world number
-No More excuses for what could would or should have happened given "X"

P.S. I wanna know what Sleeper has in that car as well.

geez half of u guys on this board are embarrassing. Gustav races are fair...and u say he doesnt show benzs beating the M. Well i just saw the video posted by the m5 board in which the sl65 destroys the m6 and im sure the video in which the slr races the m6 will show more of the same. I have both e63 amg and m5. You guys need to give credit where credit is due and get over this thing where u think the amg can beat everything on the road. they are both great cars, suited for different purposes.

Do you think a Viper with the TO DOWN have excellent aeerodynamics? t gets passed at over 120 mph vy a 7-speed Autobahn GT made for speeds ofver 200 mph, this one with a GPS confirmed at 206 MPH on Autobah. And you STILL think a VIPER with the TOP DOWN would be faster OVEr 120 mph

You really need to learn something about aerodynamics, geearing and... BMW!

Give me the hp/tq numbers on both cars and I'll tell you exactly why. Why the hell did the viper run with the top down anyway? Was that one of your requirements? Did you make all other cars pump 87 octane in order to get on the airstrip or something? Its just obvious man, give it up.
