Allright. this dude in my programming class has a z06 c5 (I think, not a new Z06). He's throwin down roughly 355rwhp he says. I didn't know if he was stock or not. Anyway, we were sitting in class and somehow the topic of cars came up and he said "nothing AMG makes can satisfy him." So I roll up my sleeves and in my best Mcfly voice say "Hey, You! What about an E55 (while sticking my finger in his face)?" I begin throw some specs at him and he thinks it can keep up with him but can't beat him. I honestly think a 211 can beat him. Who here has a stock 211 and has raced a C5 z06? Help me out. I need someone to help back me up.

Unless he's a great! driver the E55k will beat him routinely, albeit they are close the E55k is much easier to launch/drive

I traded in my C5 Z06 for my E55. My Z06 had headers, high-flow cats, a GHL cat-back exhaust, a Halltech air filter, and LS1-edit tune. It put down 392 rwhp and weighted 3,300 -3,400 lbs with me in it. My E55 is much faster.

The Z is a b!tch to launch on street rubber and takes lots and lots of practice to master. My best run in my Z was a 12.7 @ 114 mph after mods. Granted, nearly all of my post-mod runs were in hot and humid conditions. But even with great weather, I was not going to be running 12.1's @ 117 in that car like I can consistently in the E55 with my eyes closed.

I have no doubt that if I ran the two cars side by side starting at 30 mph, the E55 would still pull.

Hey Lorenzo, those times seem high. I had an '02 Z06
and ran 12.4 @116 stock. Put on the Blackwing filter and x-pipe (remember the exhaust jingle) and she ran 12.1@118. I am surprised at your times. The C5 Z is much better than that.

I thought it was better, too. But when I went to the Corvette Challenge events at e-town, I was not really slower than any of the other guys that ran with bolt-ons. Maybe it was the weather? Maybe the guy who owned it before me didn't break her in "right"? Not sure. I couldn't get a 60' time under 2.0 seconds, and my 3-4 shift always came up within a hundred feet of the traps. I refused to powershift, for fear of bending a fork. I am sure that hurt a bit, too.

There are some very quick ones out there. But they are black. Mine was silver.

The fast ones are electron blue

I have a 2003 C5 Z. I ran 11.8s@118+ with LG long tubes and Halltech cold air. I think my short times were in the 1.9s. This was at a notoriously slow MD track (75/80 Dragway in Monrovia, MD - now closed). It put down 388hp/375tq with those mods + tuning. Stock it made 363hp/352tq at the tires.

Unfortunately, I didn't run it much before the blower and now it's still in pieces for my twin turbo project

He claims he ran a 12.9 out at Bandimere. That is pretty quick..altitude corrected that puts him around low 12's right?
