VRUS airbox Guys..Any check engine lights?
I'm not sure what is going on but I keep throwing the same CEL (check engine light) code ever since the airbox install.
Read out was:
Code: P2007-008
Text: B28 (Pressure sensor) : Signal implausible
The first time this code appeared Mercedes replaced the intake pressure sensor. I'm not sure if it is related at all to the Airbox but my tech thinks I should reinstall the stock air box at this point.
Anyone else seeing anything unusual?
Victor, any thoughts?

Hey Dave.. So far I believe there are 20 airboxes installed out there... No one has emailed me about a CEL...
Even if there was a sealing problem where the airbox wasnt sealed to the TB for some reason, you wouldnt get a pressure sensor error. It would just suck in hot air and not run as good.
You sure there isnt a pinched vacuum line or a disconnected line somewhere?
Look under the airbox for the EGR hoses going to the valvecovers.. Make sure one of those didnt pop off. Also, check the hose going to the bottom of the TB.
I dont know how a MAP sensor error could be related to the airbox but, I think to get to the bottom of it, pulling the CF airbox off and at least looking under there might lead you to discover something else.

Oohh... one more thing.. Check the 6pin connector that goes to the TB.. and also another 6pin connector that runs to the bypass valve.. They are both accesible near the rear of the engine compartment.
Something had to of come lose during the install of the airbox that wasnt noticed.. My suspicion is the EGR tube going from airbox to the driver's side valvecover.

I got a slight leak somewhere. I thought I solved the problem by reinstalling the TB, but it seems to be back. My box doesnt sit over the TB as much as the stock one did.
Very minor though, so Im not that concerned. Only seems to do it on initial acceleration, or during the SC jerk

FYI, I was not smart enough to get VRUS's airbox and instead purchased someone's CF box that was a copy of Renntech's (which I regret). My box does not perfectly seal the TB. I have had it now for about several months and no CELs. No CELs even though the box does not perfectly seal the TB. I hope this info helps with the diagnosis.

Have no idea how hard it would be to pop the stock on, but sure worth a shot. If CEL stays on with stocker, least we can rule out the VRUS box.
Keep us updated and check those hoses like V said. Don't eye um, get in there with your hands. Mine looked exactly like it was on the nipple and sure enough when the tech got in there, it was just touching it, not connected.

might be a dumb question. (and small highjack sorry)
You guys post your fault codes .... do you get these from the dealer/star diagnositcs or is there a way of getting them yourselves out of the car.
I ask because I get an "electronic malfunctions, switching off electronics" every now and then. Next cold start and it's gone. Happens 1 in 20 or so starts. I haven't been to the dealers yet to find out whats tripping this and would be good to find out more direct from the car if I can. Might be something simple.

Most codes can be read using an OBDII scanner... Some codes like faulty intercooler pump dont show up in OBDII and need Star Diagnostics to find them.
Yup.. I was thinking the same thing yesterday while doing some research in WIS...
Could it be the electrical connection to the bypass valve?? If the valve is not open or closed when it should be, the MAP sensor may be reading values that it isnt expecting at certain times.
This was why I mentioned to check the wiring harness running to both the TB & Bypass valve.

Oh man... Luckily I didnt have coffee in my mouth when I read this otherwise I would have ruined a perfectly good keyboard..
Dont worry Dave.. I am expecting Pythons and covers tomorrow.. I hope they dont get stuck in bloody customs.. That will hold you over until the airboxes are done..
Believe me... I've learned a TONNE doing this CF airbox project... Made a stupid mistake with the oversight of the phenolic spacers and that cost me a long production schedule and $4,600 worth of mold & production expenses. Thanks for hanging in there with me...
Alright, alright.. back inside.. nothing to see here.. move on.... LOL..
