Here is the Gates link http://www.gates.com/automotive/dist...s_hd/index.cfm See how you go here.
This is their race type belts which are made the same way: http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?br...cation_id=5061 Same construction different color. Not sure if our size is available for this application.
Let us know if you find anything interesting...

Finny was spot on, as usual. No way to do it without fan shroud removal, which actually wasn't as bad as I thought (shroud remove)
Everything coming along. Got some errands to run this PM so hopefully have her back together Thursday.

We finished the installation, everything went to plan. However, the stumbling block was the belt.
Rocket's car has the Evotech 178 mm pulley.
I will keep you guys up to date after we complete our measurements and purchase a new belt.

I snagged both sizes larger. Their was a 55 and a 56. The 55 still wouldn't fit, but the 56 slipped right on. Gates Part# is K080560HD
Glad to hear everything went smooth!

By the way how did your install go?
Can't wait to see the dyno #'s. Funny, I am mostly interested in those A/F ratios more than hp.

180mm??? Holy hell.. Would you like an external steam engine operated rotator arm to help turn that mother of a crank pulley??? ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Remember.. ASP pulley is 183mm measured from edge of raised lip to edge of raised lip.. 175mm is the measurement of the ASP at the grooves..
It should have enough slack to operate an extra 5mm.. but.. that is a bit too big of a pulley.

Victor, I thought I wouldnt' have a problem with a pulley that was anywhere from 175-180mm. Do I also need a new belt?

Victor
I sent you an e mail 3 days ago from my other e mail...
Check PM please...
Hope I wont have any BELT ISSUES also cause Russia is no US or Canada....
I was unable to find Dayco belt for ASP pullies...Dayco doesnt supply such belts to European market...
We need to get this 100% right...and I need a spare belt for sure

I originally set this kit up for a 175mm pulley but didn't take into account the water pulley as it appears that these alter in size as well.
All belts returned to Victor will be exchanged for the next size up.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience!

For those that had a shorter belt "Sorry!".

Can you tell us which belt size/part number we need. If it is only $20-30, it might make sense for me to just pick up a belt in the US, as opposed to having to deal with the shipping back and forth between US and Canada..
Unless of course Victor wants to put a new belt in the mail for me..

Jakpro seems to have solved it by adding an extra inch.
As I said earlier, mine is a 175mm so it must be the water pump pulleys that vary in size.

Frank... It looks like it depends on the water pump pulley.. If it turns out to be too short, you pick up a belt locally, I'll cover the cost and you can just ship back the one you are getting with the kit.
So far we know the following combinations DONT work:
- Kleemann water pump pulley + ASP Crank pulley
- Evotech 175mm pulley + Evotech water pump pulley
Mike.. Never received anything in Hotmail.. I sent you back a PM.
I will get you an extra belt with the kit.

Hey Victor,
Please send me the belt that should go an a COMPLETELY STOCK PULLY set. As you know, I have stock pully's and will not upgrade until later. At the point in time I upgrade, I will consult with you on which size belt to get or others on the board who have already installed. Now everyone get them on and update us ALREADY!!!
Thanks
Roland
